My doctor didn't put me on an all liquid diet. I was just on a high-protein, low-fat, low-carb diet and it worked well. Ask your doctor if that will work for you.

First thing you should do is hit the CAPS LOCK key and shut that off. It is hard on the eyes and rude.

Second, you should rethink whether you are ready for lapband surgery or not. If you can't follow a diet for 2 days; how can you be expected to modify your eating habits for the rest of your life?

If you conclude that you are ready, then stop cheating and get back on the liquid diet. Take an aspirin or motrin for the head ache.

Are you on a Protein Shake type diet? If you're bored with the milkshakes see if you can have broth. That will be warm and salty and would mix things up for you.

Hi Tracie, welcome. I haven't started a liquid diet yet... but I completely understand the headaches... most of the time when I start ANY diet I end up with a headache. Do the Protein shakes have sugar in them? Are you allowed to add a little bit of sugar to some of your drinks? Maybe you are going through withdrawl??!? And it might be best to ease into it... Maybe someone who has been through this already can help more! Just my thought...

And btw, WE AREN'T ALL SO RUDE IN HERE.... (Hope that didn't bother your eyes...)

Let me know what ends up helping with the headaches... I am anticipating the same...

Good luck!

To btrieger,

Talk about rude! I thought this site was for support? Everyone handles things differently and your rudeness does not help. Being on a liquid diet is completely different than eating with the lap band. The process is an emotional ride. Giving support and being honest with someone is different than being rude.

To Beccatatqueen

btrieger is ALWAYS rude.

I'm with you in saying that everyone is different and what is right for me may not be right for you. I agree that we need support in this forum. We don't come here to be belittled.

To Tracie

Just take it one day at a time. Don't stress about the one mess up. Take a deep breath and just START OVER. You can do it!!

I don't think you were rude and it was easier for me to read. We had a potluck on friday and my surgery was on monday. I had very little to eat but I still ate and my surgeon wasn't happy about it. So rethink what you do because it is for the best that you follow his instructions.

I start my pre-op diet full force on August 19th but have been trying to follow it the last few weeks and it does take some adjusting. The beginning of any new process is hard. Keep you head up and keep trying.

Goood luck and do the best you can!

You peoople are right. B. trieger is rude! This coming from a guy who still eats at Subway once a week! I too had to do 2 weeks Optifast and now on 2 weeks Clear Liquids post-op. And it is HARD! If I was a guy the lbs would be melting offfaster than I could say fat! Guys just lose weight faster and easier. Doesn't give him the right to call sown someone who is having a hard time. What was your pre-op diet Bob? We are here to support each other, not to make a person feel bad for a misstep! Your headache sweetie could have been from dehydration or low blood sugar. Oh, and as for the capslock, some folks don't see very well (think macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy) and maybe this helps them see what they are typing.

THIS IS NOW MY 4th DAY AND I MUST SAY I'M DOING PRETTY GOOD, WELL I'M DOING OK, I'VE BEEN TAKING SOME OFTHE ADVISE THAT'S BEEN GIVIN TO ME AND IT'S HELPING ALONG WITH LOTS OF PRAYER. AGAIN THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HUGRY TUMMY:lol: AND MY HEART.

I think headaches are going to happen. We're cutting out sugar and caffeine. That's a huge shock to the body. Your body will adjust to it. I'm a big fan of herbal tea. It's very soothing. It's been helping my headaches.

As far as cheating goes, it's going to happen. If it was THAT easy to stick to a diet, would weight loss surgery even exist? The biggest trick is learning to listen to your body and recognizing what it actually needs. That's going to take a while.

Good luck and take care of yourself :)

This is my 8 or 9 day....at this point I can't remember but, what I do know is that although I am hungry I try to see if the hunger is in my head or in my tummy. I am glad others have responded to your plea. I struggle everyday even though I have wanted this for years. I have added cottage cheese to my daily intake both for Protein and substance however I make sure to keep below my 800 calories and I have lost 7lbs in one week. My surgery is schedule for 7/14 and I am ready or as ready as I think I am.:) My biggest challenge this week was cooking a huge meal for my step son and his friend with all his favorites plus Cookies for the go and yes I prayed from the grocery store to the end of dinner. PLEASE DON'T LET ME CHEAT!!! I am proud to say I didn't cheat and I actually sat at the table and talked while my family ate. I was either strong or completely crazy but I got through it. Either way we all will get through this part of it as well. Just think how hot we all will look when all is said and done. Keep up the great work WE ALL deserve it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
