@dhigg68 - I guess the pre-op diet depends on your Doctor. But I'm sure you won't regret this surgery at all, just think of how great you'll feel at the end.

Good Luck and Congratulations! :)

I just finished my 6 month insurance requirements last Thurs. July 1st. I am waiting my pre-op and surgery date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's before Aug. 1st :) GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE - I'm not far behind you.

Michelle, good luck to you!! I've already been through it once...lol. Already approved for the revision and hoping this week flies by so I can get this next part of the journey started again.

You will do good and if you're like most folks the only regret you'll have is why you didn't do it sooner!!

Hey ya all,

I am 7 days into my two week liquid diet. There is no easy way to put it but it sucks. lol The third day was the hardest for me but after a few more you get use to it. It's tolerable because you know you have a goal in mind. What helps me, is getting on here and reading others stories. It's inspiring and it keeps me going. Surgery date is 7/14 and I can't wait to see some changes. The only postive thing I can add about the liquid diet is that I lost 7lbs my first week. lol Good luck to all. We deserve to find that inner skinny person in all of us.

I'm on my third day of a 14 day preop - liquid only - diet. OMG it's hard. I definitely could not do this without this ultimate goal in mind! I am only getting 600-700 calories a day and I can't believe I'm still functioning! My doc's office called today - they want me to come in tomorrow and repeat my EKG...a little weird, said they just have to make sure the leads were placed right.....hmmm.....guess I'll find out tomorrow. I have lost 7 pounds since Monday!!! How crazy is that? I really just want to eat some vegetables...I may ask tomorrow if I can add those to my diet.

To beskinny

Your right it is hard but we can do this. I will tell you, I asked my doctor the reasoning for the liquid and all he stated was if I had told people to keep it under 800 calories most people would cheat. Well I have given myself cottage cheese and veggies. I stick to my 800 tightly and do not cheat over 800 and I have lost the 7lbs. So if you do choose to have something more solid make sure it's Protein or veggies and whatever you do don't go over the 800 calories. It makes the two weeks better to cope with. Good luck with the EKG. I wouldn't worry about that to much. I have had mine done twice

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
