You can take a loan. There are loan companies out there that specialize in medical loans.

If you have enough credit on your credit card, you may also charge the surgery.

Where do you live? Have you checked around with surgeons in the area for self-pay prices?

I financed my surgery with HealthOne.

I went to Denver for surgery ($9,950) www.lapbandrockies.com

Where do you live? There may be programs in your area that are reasonably priced for cash pay patients. I paid $13,000 total and charged it all to two different cards that I will pay off with my savings. You can also get a loan, there are companies that provide loans specificaly for medical procedures. Your surgeon should have information regarding financing. A good thing about paying cash is that everything goes very quick, you get to choose your surgeon and hospital, and you don't have to worry about jumping through all of the insurance hoops. Good luck.

Why did the insurance company refuse to pay? You can't say it is medically necessary? That is what happened to me with my insurance but then I got lucky and my company switched insurance companies and the new insurance paid. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
