Hi Tara and Esmeralda,

If you guys would like to come to one of our meet ups please send me an email at vikki4mymail.com so I can add you on our list. Where are you getting your band done in Newport Beach? I bet your nervous and if you have any questions please send them over. We all know how scary it is going into the surgery. There are three of us going to Mexico this Sat. and one is getting a fill the other two are just there for support. We have become really close because support is key.

Hello everyone! My name is Natalie and I am going to be banded on Feb. 2nd! YAY! I was just wondering if any of you guys get together for walks or exercise or anything? I just thought it would be nice to have some kind of walking or hiking buddy. For those of you that have had the surgery, how long did it take you before you felt fine to exercise?

Hi everyone,

I'm Tiffeny from Westminster. I just had my band surgery on January 7th. I'm doing great. I'm anxious and a little nervous for my first fill. I started my weightloss journey at 356, lost 22 before the surgery and have now lost another 23 since. I'm down 47 pounds and so proud of myself. I look forward to talking with everyone. :cursing:

Hi Tiffeny,

My name is Debi. I live in Fountain Valley. I had my band done on August 6, 2008 by Doctor Leport at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital.

You have done very well in the weight loss department! I am down a total of 44 pounds, and have been at it quite a bit longer than you. I don't sweat it though - it took a long time to get to this size...and losing it is a long term adventure.

Don't fret about the fill. It sounds a little scary, but it is not that big of a deal. Personally (and every body is different), I didn't get any restriction at all until my 3rd fill a couple of weeks ago. But boy, once I started feeling restriction, it was everything I hoped it would be. I need to eat slowly and I can't eat very much volume. Just what I needed!

Welcome to bandland.

Debi,

Some days I fill completely satisfied with my meals, but then other days I'm starving. I control myself and don't cheat, but I hate not filling full. I'm hoping that once I get the fill I can go back to the beginning when I was not stuffed but full after eating. I did weight watchers for years and am so used to being able to eat as many veggies as you want, but on this you can't, and sometimes I just want more.

Connie,

Where abouts in OC are you?

Good luck on your surgery. Wow only 1 week away, you must be so excited. I was banded 3 weeks ago today and am so happy with the results. Look forward to hearing about how you are doing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
