How is everyone doing? My 2 year bandiversarry was June 8 and I have lost a total of 67 pounds. I still have 50 to go. I have been struggling and haven't lost any weight in the last 6 months.I keep going up and down the same 3 pounds. I was having trouble with my band adjustments. First I was too tight and then too loose and I just had a small fill yesterday so am hoping I have hit my sweet spot again. At the beginning of June I made a commitment to myself to make myself a top priority in my life...we all know how hard that is. I have a personal trainer and have been working hard on my card and weights with him. I am really hoping to get back on track with my weight loss. I am so grateful to have my band and i could have never got here without it. I hope you are all doing well and would love to hear some updates.

Take care,

Lynn

Two years ago I was 235 lbs. Now I am 135. Though it goes up and down 5 lbs

I feel better. I have gone from wearing a size 24 to a size 4!!!!!

I have never been a size 4!!! Crazy cool!!

People say "Aw, you're a tiny lady". If only they had seen me two years before. It is still a mental struggle for me though. Like I still "feel" like I'm a big woman. Then I see myself in a mirror and am pleasantly surprised. And I still have head hunger. I still want to eat lots but I just can't. I know that's not good. So I'm working on a mind change. The lapband def helped me get to where I am, now I gotta use my mind to help me stay there!!! With Jesus on my side, I'll make it!!!

My 2 years was June 5th, I lost 126 lbs my first year, maintained it my 2nd year. Then with a move, DD's wedding, etc. I did gain about 15 lbs. I am now working hard on getting those back off, not as easy as the first time. I joined the gym here, got my fill back (had to have some taken out a while back). I too struggle with the head hunger and wanting more and with still seeing myself as the fat person, hopefully my head will catch up with my body. Another thing I am cold all the time!

Gosh, you are doing awesome! When was the last time you maintained a 67lb loss for 6 months? That's terrific!

At this point, it's probably just a few tweaks to your eating/excersize routine that will help the most and it sounds like you've got a good handle on making those updates. The last part of our weight comes off the slowest, but don't worry, it will still come off if you change things up a little bit.

I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary and my 1 year goal. My weight loss plan is for 2-3 years. You can check out what all I'm doing towards that end on my blog below.

Good luck to you!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
