Hello everyone!

Ok, I'm on my last week (week 3 post op) of my liquid diet. I have 3 more days before I can start my pureed 2 weeks. I have been feeling dizzy for the past 3 days and I think it's because I am starving! I get about 700 calories a day and I could handle it before, but I think my body is not having it anymore. I'm about to start my period, don't know if this has anything to do with it. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

I'm on my 5th day post op. My diet consists of 3 meals. In any combination, a low fat sugar free yogurt, 6-8 oz of cream Soup, low fat pudding Optifast shake. Sometimes I mix in some watered down juice too, to go with my Water I'm drinking.

I guess I never realized it till today either, but maybe I have dizzy spells too. Not sure if its in my mind, but I kinda feel woozy maybe. I was getting on the elevator at work today and experienced it. It wasn't the , I'm gonna pass out or fall down woozy , but it definately felt strange.

I have been having dizzy spells too, but I am eating fine. I actually just had an unfill for bring too tight and having problems, and only had 3cc put back in. I don't know what is going on since I am able to eat anything. Hmmm...I wonder if it is a circulation issue???

Dizziness could be from low blood sugar or low blood pressure. Your body may be going through changes due to your new diet. I would call your doctor. All the best!

Call the dr. Ask to go ahead and move to pureed foods. I'm sure your period does have something to do with it! Hope you feel better.

I didn't really get dizzy but really shakey in my lower back and legs. I made sure to add apple juice and orange juice to my diet it really helped in the liquid stage. I only had to do 2 weeks. That may have been some help to avoid the dizzy spells. Dr moved me on to mushies early because I was tolerating so well.CallDr and ask you may be able to move on to other foods sooner.

Update: I went to doctor yesterday. He referred me to my PCP and actually made the appt for me to ensure that I went. He said it could be a number of things causing the dizziness/lightheaded feeling. Could be blood pressure or an inner ear problem. Who knows, but I also get terrible Migraines, so i am wondering if that is related??

I did fine with the pre and post op surgery but tuesday I didn't eat before my fill and then was stuck with liquids for 24 hours, and I got dizzy. I think just all the changes your body is going through catches up with you. I started on some Soup and feel a lot better now.

Hey...this is exactly what i was getting ready to post! I'm about a week and a half out and have been slowly incorporating mushies into my liquids. But I still feel like I'm not getting enough Protein and calories and wondering if maybe that's why I'm so dizzy. I was dizzy before I went to work today, but then being in a prison with no windows in my office and no air conditioning with 90 degree weather...well, you can understand why I left early.

Anyway I too was wondering if anyone else was real dizzy; I can't concentrate on my homework or anything else. It's so crazy :Dancing_biggrin:

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I talked to my surgeon's office and they said it sounds like my blood pressure and maybe my meds need to be adjusted due to the weight loss, and to talk to my pcp. I called my doc's office and they couldn't get me in right away, but want me to be seen cuz they said it could be my blood pressure too. I stopped my pill for 2 days and the dizziness definitely decreased a lot ( I don't advise this). I'm gonna get my blood pressure checked at cvs or other drug store cuz I'm not sched to see my pcp until next week. I'm starting pureed foods tonight, I'm actually supposed to begin tomorrow, but what is 1 meal, right?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
