I finally got banded friday and luckily they let me come home that evening. It's really not too much pain, way less than when I had my appendix out a few years ago. They only that sucks, is the gas! It's hard to tell if I've drank too much or just still bloated from surgery.

My stomach is more sore today than the last two days, but i haven't felt the need for any of the pain medication they prescribed. I'm not a big fan of pills in general.

At times I think "wow, what did I just do!" It's always a shock when things change and you know that life will never be the same. I just know that this is a change that will positive and not sad.:cursing:

Congrats!! I'm glad you're doing ok-- the gas will eventually go away. I didn't take the pain pills either (I hate how "fuzzy" they made me feel.)

Heal, heal, heal!

Hello! Welcome to a very exclusive club.:scared2:

We have all been were you are, all you need to do is to concentrate on healing. Your gas will go away in about 2 or 3 more days and your stomach will go down in another 6 weeks then you can concentrate on the task at hand. Remember to walk and pamper yourself. :w00t:

You know what you just did is to change your life, I was thinking the same thing and I still do, but I have to say I will never regret it!:tongue2:

Take Care

I too was banded on Friday May 28th. they kept me overnight which was nice. I am sore but not unbearable. The worst part is the gas and my stomach feels so bloated and hard. did anything help you? I am sending my daughter out for some gas-x now. Hopefull I can expell a gas balloon soon and take some of this pressure off.

Darcien:

The best advise is the heating pad or walking, it does not have to be around the house would suffice. Congratulations on your new life!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
