I am back from getting banded in Mexico

Recommended Posts

My surgery was Tuesday 25th of Nov and it all went great.

Dr.Kuri is the best! He came in to see me 3 times yesterday to see how I was doing and then discharged me this morning around 9 am and the came back once again to say good bye.Very caring man!

I stayed at the older facility he uses in TJ and I had to admit I was scared of the place but all fears are gone. The hospital staff was great to me and very acomodating to my mother who stayed with me a room that had 2 beds in it.

I am more sore today than yesterday but I think it is because I won't sit still and I still have some gas pains going on.

It is so weird to think I have not eaten anything in 2 days- well I guess tea and Jello count for something.

Well thansk everyone for all the great info given here at this board and for all the nice words before I went off to surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
