Chicken and Stars soup does not correlate with liquid diet

Recommended Posts

The chunks in it is not considered liquid, but I bet if you strain it, it would be okay. Are you on clears?

I know how frustrated you are, I was starving from day 1 after surgery. I had to do 2 weeks of Clear liquids and I only made it to day 12. Then one week of thick liquids, and now today, mushies which I really started yesterday.

I have just decided i'm going to hit this thing running. I am going to see how much weight I can lose before surgery on Friday. Is 10 pounds realistic? If so that's my goal. Today i'm going out and buying bottles of Water, and boullion cubes, and Vitamins, and gatorade and Jello, anything that I need to get through this liquid phase and get started on my new life I have chosen for myself. I am deciding to take charge, to make this work for me, instead of me trying to work around it. It's crazy that i'm sitting here trying to cheat already with soup...its not going to happen. Today is the first day of my WL journey and i'm going to make it a great one!

Hi, This is for your pre-op liquids? Make sure you keep your protien up so that your body has enough to heal after surgery. Try Isopure - clear protien drinks if you are on Clear Liquids or a protien suppliment if you are on full liquids. The extra protien will really help your body during and after sugery.

Good luck!

Ha! Have to warn you about my chicken and stars experience.............

I am on post op diet, which is two weeks of liquids, including cream Soups. I bought a Campbell's Soup at Hand chicken and stars this week. I heated it in the microwave then poured it in the blender and blended it really well. When I poured it out I thought, "Wow! This is frothy!" I had beat a ton of air into it. Not thinking twice, I downed about 1/2 of it. Yummmmmmmy!!!! (I'm struggling with the liquid phase and was so hungry!!) LET ME TELL YOU.........three hours of the worse gas pains I've had since surgery. It never occured to me that all that air in the soup would get trapped inside me! Ouch!

Moral of the story...........I'd strain out the little stars rather than run them through a blender! smile.gif But at that point, you may as well drink broth! LOL.

I have been putting EVERYTHING in the blender -- chili, corn Soup, soup with chicken etc I just add alittle Water and blend it minimally (watch for the air as previously mentioned) I have had no problems, and I'm 3 weeks post op. Good luck, and it's not you, liquids is HARD AS HELL!

Different Drs say different things. I had no pre op diet except to eat liquids only the night before -- including broth which would have protein.......you should check with your Dr though............

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
