Hello Everyone,
First, I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to finally be writing this! I have waited for what has felt like forever since I made the decision to get WLS.
I am 6 days post -op and this is the first day I finally feel much better. Prior, I had a lot of gas pain in my diaphragm which radiated to my shoulder. I could hardly breath much less walk. Anyway, I have been drinking Water, clear broths, decaf teas, diet Snapple, etc... and I am starving.
So, I took a nibble of some cheesecake we had left over from Easter - nothing happened, so I took another nibble and no dumping or nausea or pain. I have since stopped - don't want to press my luck. I am very hungry and would love to eat something real, but I am afraid. I guess I took the nibble of cheesecake - my favorite, out of habit. I am shocked that nothing happened.
Has anyone else experience this? How did you handle the hunger during the 7 days after surgery when you can't eat? I have two days left before I get moved to "soft food" and I am going out of my mind. Thank you!
