Does anyone have any information on Dr. Jayaseelan in Dallas?

Has anyone had the lap band with a BMI of 38?

Thanks for your help.

I had my first visit with him this past Wednesday and I really liked him. I had been researching several doctors here in the Dallas area and I kept going back to him. Several people on the board here use him as well.

I am an RN at one of his hospitals. I can't speak for his reputation with the lab band, although I am sure it is steller, I think he is a remarkably nice, down to earth and caring guy. He is an excellent general surgeon.

Dr Jay did my surgery yesterday morning. He was great. I felt safe and secure with him running the show. I had questions today and called his office and got all the answers I needed and then some. So far, I couldn't be happier with Dr Jay and his staff!

I am going to call tomorrow and schedule my first appointment . I will keep you posted and let you know how it goes .. I do know right now that I have to have my gall bladder removed first and then I will be banded after that .. I can't wait ... How are you doing ? When did were you banded and how are things going?

I was banded on November 16th at Medical City in Dallas by Dr Jay. I made sure I was the first cut of the day. I got there at 6:15a, first cut was at 7:45a and I was home by 1p. Everyone was really nice and couple of the nurses in day surgery had also been banded. I don't care if it's in poor taste, I ask everyone about thier band and weight loss. If they don't want to tell me they don't have too. I've been luck to find people who are very open and giving.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
