I've heard of the 5 incision and the single incision through the belly button. When I woke up from surgery I noticed I had 3 incisions. One on my belly button and one on the left and right side of my belly. I haven't had a chance to talk to the surgeon but has anyone had this technique?

i have 4 incisions according to my doctor he said that during prep time on the surgery table he will asses ur stomach and see how many incisions are needed. not everyone qualifies for the 1 incision.. i have 1 below my right breast.. one on my right side 1 above my belly button and the big one on my left side were my port is..

so its really just whatever ur surgeon thought was needed.. and congrats by the way

My surgeon performed SILS (single-incision laparoscopic surgery) on me through my belly button -- but then had to make three small incisions as the surgery went on.

I am so happy that the biggest incision is hidden in my belly button. :-)

I went to MyVirtualModel.com and put the information in for my highest weight. I did a screen capture (PrtSc button), and then pasted it in a photo program I use called IrfanView (because it is free, easy to use, and has the "panorama image" feature -- URL is IrfanView.com to download) and saved the file, calling it filename High. Then I went back to MyVirtualModel.com and entered my current weight in the model's information. I did another screen capture and pasted it in my photo program and saved the file, calling it Current. Again, back to MyVirtualModel.com and entered my goal weight on the model. Screen Capture, paste in photo program, save file, calling it Goal. Then! I went into IrfanView's Create a Panorama Image under the Image menu. I selected all three files (High, Current, Goal) in that order horizontally. Save the file! Then I added it to my LBT album, and took the URL and added the pic in my signature using that URL.

How's that?! :-)

I was banded 3/2 I love Dr. O and Lauri and Lisa. EVERYONE. haha I go in for my first fill 4/14. I was Dr. O's last patient to be banded and have to stay over night, as well as have the swallow test in the morning. I do go to the support groups, however I didnt go to the March one I will be there the April group. Thats cool that you were banded by him as well. Do you live in Atlantic county? I live like 5 minutes from the life center.

The March one was great! They cooked quinoa polenta for us. Mmmm! They mentioned no more overnights and no more swallow tests at the support group. I'm so thankful that I got to stay overnight. I needed it -- I was nauseous and glad I had the nurses there to help me.

I live in western Atlantic County, yep. :frown:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
