Is this price quote sounds reasonable

Recommended Posts

I went for my 3rd consults yesterday and I love the doctor. I still have one more consult to go to but out of all 3, I love her the most.

She said I need 3 things done, arm lift, inner thigh lift (not the long scar but the scar around my panty) and exxtended Tummy Tuck. She said she can do all 3 procedures in 4 hours. The total cost will be $19,000. Her fees is about $12,000 and the rest is the surgical room and Anesthesia fees..this is an outpatient and not include hospital stay. She give me a one year for revision if something goes wrong within a year, i don't have to pay anything except if it is major and has to be done in a hospital operating room which I have to pay for the fees.

Is this sounds reasonable? BTW, I live in TN.

Thank you,

I paid 13,700 for a tt, thigh lift and breast lift/reduction with implants. Mine was also done out patient, and was a 6 hour surgery, so I would think that is a little high. What are the other quotes?

It varies so much from region to region. With an extended Tummy Tuck, that's not really outside the range of what I've been told to expect. (The surgeon I think I'm going to use, in Houston, is in the 19,000-20,000 range for these surgeries. Another, in Pittsburgh, is a tad higher, and a third and fourth, in NY and LA, are WAY higher.)

it helps when the surgery is not done in a hospital, but rather in a surgery center, usually owned by the surgeon. You aren't paying the ridiculous amounts for the use of the operating room.

I am getting extended TT, lift w/silicone gel implants, Lipo and fat transfer to the bum for $16,500.

I'm having it done in Houston, TX if that makes a difference.

I'm in the middle of this too. I was quoted $27,000 for an arm lift, extended TT, breast enhancement with a lift and not sure what getting the back fat and skin removed is called. I think it sounds a little steep, but I'm seeing two more in the next two weeks to compare surgeons and prices.

I paid around $17,000 for Extended Tummy Tuck with an anchor cut, muscle tightening. Small breast lift with silicone implants. The price was for all dr's fees' the surgery center, the anasthesiologist, and 2 nights in a care center. Surgery was 7-8 hrs. I had a small revision done on the tummy because of scar issues due to necrosis and that surgery was 2.5 hours (basically a new tummy tuck was done) and the drs fees were free on that. All Drs visits were covered under the 17 grand for as long as I needed them. I'm in Calif and had the surgery in LA/Bev hills area

I agree it depends on where you live. I had a TT, arm lift, inner and outer Lipo on thighs and I paid 11,400 with a surgery time of 3 hours. This was about 40 miles south of Chicago. I met with a Dr. from Chicago and the price would have been just under 17,000 without the thighs.

It's all about location.

Sorry for the late reply. I live in Nashville, TN and I have been to 4 surgeons now.

  • The first surgeon is going to do TT with muscle repair, arm life & medial inner thigh lift. He has his own facility but I do not like him because I felt rush and my questions were not answered. Eventhough he is one of the top surgeon in Nashville and has his own facility, if he and I don’t click, it is not going to happen… he quoted me $12,000 total (2 surgeries) (out patient).
  • The second surgeon wants to do belt Tummy Tuck, arm lift and thigh lift (2 surgeries) (1 day stay in hospital with tummy tuck & thigh lift) Outpatient for arm lift..total $18,000.
  • The 3rd surgeon, whom I love is going to do extended tummy tuck, muscle repair, arm life and inner thigh lift (out patient) total $19,030.
  • The 4th surgeon will send me the quote tomorrow. He also is going to do extended tummy tuck with vaser Lipo because I have fat on my hip, arm lift and inner thigh lift (2 surgeries as well) all out patient. BTW, I like him too J

Right now I fell lost. I really don’t know what I really need since all 4 said differently about my tummy.

Thank you for reading :)

If you don't mind sharing I would like to know what doctor you went to. I live in Fresno and since i'm getting close to my goal I've been looking for a good doctor. Also, would you recommend or go back to the same doctor? Thanks!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
