Approx. Cost in U.S. for self-pay

Recommended Posts

There are at least two doctors in Colorado that will do it for under 10K. My doctor, Dr. Kirshenbaum of lapbandrockies.com is great. $9950 for everything, done in the USA - hospital, anesthesia, etc. He has done over 800 surgeries and only two slipped bands to date. Also, you get free fills for the first three months, then for a discount thereafter. Lots of information on his website.

Check out "True Results" in Dallas Texas. $9900 for cash pay and it includes one year of aftercare. I used Dr. Fox and really like him, he is strict and stays with you on your journey. All of the PA's are always talking about how Dr. Fox does things....they really respect him and how he follows up with his patients. I did have to pay for a couple of lab things at the beginning and that was about 6 or 7 hundred dollars. The procedure took place at Richardson Surgery Center...the surgery was out patient but Dr. Fox has all out of town patients to spend the night in a hotel up the street.... the hotel was included in my price.

If you would like to know anything else please PM me.

I have lost 168 lbs since January of 2000. I lost 78 lbs from January 2000 to April of 2010 on my own. I have lost 90 since my lapband surgery on April 13, 2010. I would like to lose 20 - 25 more.

Good Luck on your journey,

Stagegirl

Dr. Aguila in Tampa, Fl has a great self pay program. Around $5,000 up front and the hospital finances the remainder of the $10,650 total cost with no credit check with payments of $208 per month for 2 years. This is the best self pay arrangement in the US, as far as I can tell. He is doing my band tomorrow.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
