Lap Band Limericks

Recommended Posts

There once was a man from Wisconsin

Who in his easy chair was ensconcin'

When he shot a PB

Which took out the TV

In a manner evoking Charles Bronson.

An obese biddy from Tenessee,

Couldn't spy or espy either knee.

After banding, our Bella

Could grasp each patella:

A stunningly sweet NSV.

A woman from northwest Wyoming

Through her BCBS file was combing.

She found, to her glee,

LAP-BAND®'s own CPT,

And relieved, took a stroll in the gloaming.

there was a young girl from Nantucket

whatever she ate, she would chuck it

it would come up with slime

all of the time

so she always carried a bucket

Way cool and ROFLMAO thread! I'll work on a limerick or at least a haiku...

Thanks!

I've heard tell of a portly New Yorker,

Who lived many a year as a porker.

After getting the Band, she is much in demand,

Trailed by suave, stunning men who all stalk her.

Said a bandster from Bloxom,Virginia,

"I can bend now to tend to my zinnia,

Before banding, my garden

Was worth disregardin'

But just look at my phlox and gloxinia!"

A Bandster from Norton, New Hampshire

Said: "The Band is the best - I am damn sure!

Would I do it again? Even with all the pain,

Here's my answer to each sir or ma'am: sure!"

A young bandster from Mott, North Dakota

Was of two minds about drinking soda:

She longed for the fizz which in soft drinks there is,

But her doctors all said it would bloat her.

We often decide to get banded

When from chairs onto floors we have landed.

Once we fit in plane seats,

We realize that it's neat!

Why we waited? Just can't understand it!

Debbie!

A bandster went for a fill,

And her NP she wanted to kill!

She could not find the port

And our girl's not the sort

Who would lie there without getting ill! :cursing:,

A bandster from Vernon, Vermont

Got backed up from a piece of croissant;

In a tone of remorse, he said, "time to change course,

I cannot eat whatever I want."

A bandster I know in L A,

Ran a marathon one bright Sunday.

And when she was done,

She said, "This was fun!

And definitely worth the self pay!"

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
