UGH!!!! I guess I just had a moment of bandster hell! I have been so hungry. I ate two scrambled eggs for Breakfast and an hour later hungry. I went in got a yogurt. Before I could finish I declared a "cheat day". I texted my husband to bring me some lunch home and threw a bagel in the toaster and ate it with some promise butter. I finally felt full................................................................................................Then the guilt set in! Oh - man...I ate too much, too quick. I listened to my head hunger even after I was full. WHat the heck? That was too much food at one time, am I going to stretch my pouch now? Crap. crap, crap.:smile2:

texted husband and told him to NOT bring me anything!!! I will have a shake for dinner and get back on track tomorrow!

:w00t:

So what you had a few extra calories,, do not beat yourself up.... Hang in there have a great day, do something really active. This is a marathon not a sprint. Think positive, we all mess up I had cake and Cookies and miniture brownies and pizza, last night. Guess what my weight was still down today... You are not alone we are with you.

Last night my husband and I went out on a date, we went out to eat, I had 2 glasses of wine and Andy's frozen custard! Ha Ha to my band. But today I will go back to doing what I am suppose to, and everything will be fine. We didn't get fat by having 1 day of eating too much, as long as we go back to doing what we are suppose to and don't do it too often it will be fine. And by the way it sounds like you don't have good restriction yet if you can eat a bagel. So don't worry it will get better.

I say don't beat yourself up, you definitely could have made much worse choices than you did. And at least you were able to snap out of it before you made any really awful choices. Just dust yourself off and try again. I think we all have days where we fall off a little, but we're human. It's being able to get back on the wagon and continue forward that counts!

Nope - I don't have restriction. I went for my first fill of 3cc last week (4wk post-op) and I swear the next day and everyday since I have been more hungry than before the fill. ????

I did cancel the Burger King order that I was having my husband bring so I guess it was good to snap out of it before that came.

Thanks for the support. It is what I needed/need.:smile2:

The positives here are that you stopped before you did any real damage and you didn't declare it a cheat week or month. :smile2:

Got right back on track by the afternoon yesterday. I never would have done that before. I would have spiraled out of control for a few days. Thanks for the support!

It happens to all of us -- you are only human! After my great day on Friday, we took the kids out for dinner and i chose a healthy dinner, but then picked some of the kids' fries and ate a couple of bites of their sundae! It's all good. We can't deny ourselves of everything all the time----that's a sure thing to make us binge!!!

It seems funny to some people when I say I had a bad day because I ate 3 fries or something---we are so hard on ourselves that if we step back, it really isn't as bad as we make it out to be. Way to go for stopping before the Burger King!!!!

Tomorrow is a new day!!!

No you haven't stretched your pouch. Give yourself a pat on the back for calling your husband and telling him 'not' to bring you something home and for moving forward!

You know a tip that I got after I was banded was to keep eating the foods I liked while I still could in moderation.

Natural progression will only allow you to eat some foods for a certain amount of time. Eventually Bagels, steak, bread, etc will be difficult for you to eat. I am not saying to eat a dozen bagels in one sitting but still you almost have to wean yourself off the foods you love. In reality your band will help you with this.

I wish I would have "indulged" in the foods I could no longer eat.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
