I'm on my 4th week of Optifast and I love them. They are a little pricey and only available through distributors. Check out their website OPTIFAST - weight loss, weight management, improved health, renewed energy and self esteem

I also had this question. I start my pre-op diet on the 10th.

Has anyone come across a non-sweet shake that they like? I really am not fond of sweet food....like chocolate and vanilla shakes. Is there some unflavored or savory powders that someone has tried and liked?

Thanks!

my nutritioniest told me of a product called Unjury they have a tasteless protine that I guess you add to drinks Soup ect but I have never tried it. I am skeptical witch was the reason for my post. I have tried the mussle milk whey vanilla and omg it it soooooo gross! I gag every time I try to drink it.

I have tried the Myoplex Lite chocolate and while it was not super good it was drinkable. I did not care for it because it left a coating in your mouth. But I did like the Muscle Milk Chocolate. I only buy the pre-mixed ones because I just don't have time in the morning to get all the stuff out to mix one and that way I can just toss it in my bag and drink it when I get to work. They say not to freeze them (the pre-mixed ones) but I toss my in the freezer for about 15 to 30 minutes so it is nice and cold. It makes it a little easier to get down. I have not started my offical pre-op diet but have just been trying some for Breakfast to find one I like before I have to do the pre-op. I will need to check out the unflavored kind. Oh and it is not a Protein Shake but Crystal Lite makes a Strawberry/Banana mix that has Protein in it. Not a lot but hey every little bit helps right.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
