Go back to your surgeon...... just do it ! You will be much better off if you do. They can offer you the help you need to make this work better for you.

If you can barely eat without vomiting, then you are either eating way too fast or too much OR you are too tight. I would think maybe too tight. Stop and think what you eat that makes you sick. Were you eating bites that were too big or too fast? If not, you should probably get back to your surgeon to check with him/her. You probably need a small unfill. When you are too tight, you tend to eat slider foods which are higher in calories but are easily eaten when your band is tight. Try journaling your foods AND drinks for one week to see where your calories are coming from. Be honest. You are either eating more calories than you need or possibly eating way too little and your metabolism needs to be jump-started. You won't know until you take an honest look at what you are puting in your system each day. What you don't want to do is continue to beat yourself up over it. Take positive steps to move forward and don't look back. You can do this!

I had my surgery in July 07. I could have written the paragraph you wrote. I have been trying to lose weight so I could go back to my doc., but I just can't and I was too embarrassed to go. I finally went last Fri. I told the nurse, "This does not work for me." I diet and am losing nothing. The weight is slowly coming back instead of going down. The band tightened recently too. I am never full. I either can't eat and puke, or I can eat and I feel like I'm choking. She took out 2cc. I had 8 in a 10cc band. She sent me for a flouro. I went on Mon. I have the film, and I have an appt. with my doc. next Thurs.

Go to the doc. Tell them you are not happy. This is not working.

From all that I've read about the lapband, your band could have slipped, I believe that can cause weight gain and vommitting. You should definately go back to the doctor, you will feel so much better:redface:

What are you eating? If you're having difficulty eating without vomiting, I wonder whether you're too tight, and compensating with (higher calorie) sliders.

Look, you've lost forty percent of your excess weight. That is a HUGE accomplishment that you need to recognize. Yes, you can build on it. But you MUST see your doctor to ensure that your band is properly adjusted.

You're not a failure; you're simply in need of the medical attention you signed on for when you agreed to be banded. GO GET IT.

In my pre-op talk with my surgeon, he said that there would most likely come a time that I would struggle and become too embarrassed / ashamed to come to the office for my regular appointment--but no matter how bad I was doing there were always people doing so much worse!!!

We started this journey because we needed help, I don't think that will ever go away....go see your surgeon.

I had a very similar experience. I called the office and told them my problem. The nurse suggested taking a prilosec morning and night and not to eat or drink anything for at least 2 hours before bedtime. I drank only liquid and soft foods for a few days and after about 10 days I was cured and went back to regular foods. She gave me a great advice and it was just that simple to fix the problem I thought I would have to have an unfill and imagined all kind of problems but it was fixed with that 1 phone call. Good luck to you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
