I have almost a full box of Full bars left and was wondering if anyone knows whether they would be ok still to use? I do not get my first fill until the 27th so i don't have restriction right now and i thought that maybe they would help me out during this awkward stage in my lap band journey. I looked through the ingredients and this is what are in them:

Puffed Wheat,Brown rice Syrup, peanuts(I have the Peanut Butter crunch flavor),Soy Protein concentrate, Honey, Glycerine, Agave syrup, Acacia gum, canola oil, Natural flavors, salt and soy lecithin.

So there really isn't anything in them to expand and get stuck as far as i know. Any Thoughts???

Just chew them well and eat as normal until you're feeling full. What's the Protein content? You don't want to feel so full that you'r'e not hungry enough to eat the protein that you need.

Hey... Thanks for replying!! The Protein content is 6 grams so not very much. It just says to eat full bar with 8 oz of Water preferably 30 mins. before a meal. They actually don't make you very full at all..lol otherwise i wouldn't have had to get surgery lol I just thought maybe they would help a lil and i didn't just have to waste them. This was the first and ONLY box i bought. I originally just wanted to try them out and i wasn't super impressed. :)

I eat myoplex lite bars (I drank myoplex lite shakes during the liquid phase). They have 15 grams of protien. I find them fairly tastey. I use them when I need to eat on the go. I get them at Walmart.< /p>

I bought a box as a last ditch "maybe I won't need the band" effort, but they didn't do anything to make me full either.

Question...if they didn't work, why would you want to use them now?

If you have to take them with 8 oz of Water, then no, I wouldn't eat them. You should not drink with any food after being banded. Also, is it supposed to maybe "expand" to give you the feeling of fullness? If so, that may be a recipe for disaster with your band. I just wouldn't risk it.

I agree with this. The puffed wheat is what expands and that is how they make you feel full. I know it's a drag to throw things away, but I find myself doing it all the time. Maybe give them to a friend or co-worker.

Yes, take them to work for all the ppl to try who had been wondering if they work....that would be a nice thing to do!!!! Even though you don't have any restriction now, no sense risking the bar swelling and creating problems.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
