Anyone had severe band tightness after TT?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I would love to be able to see inside as well. I see you go to doctor Oh in Federal Way, I do as well. They don't seem to think it's weird, but I sure do.

I had a Tummy Tuck in October. After the surgery it was so tight, I had a complete unfill. Now, I have less than half of the fill prior to surgery, same restriction. Crazy.

this is my fear of not getting some taken out. My band is VERY unpredictable!

after not having a fill for 4 months, one day i had to have some taken out. had half of what was taken out, put back, only to have to go back for HALF of THAT taken out.

I have some days that i still feel like i should have some taken out (but it usually only last for half a day or so), and others that i want more put in!

JUST INCASE i have swelling, i'm still going for some to get taken out the day before we leave for Houston. I do NOT want to be stuck out of town and not know where to go or trust someone that doesn't know how to handle the band if i'm super nausous (i get nausous very easy!), throwing up, or super tight!

I just need to figure out how much to get taken out. i don't want to go too extreme and gain weight after PS because i'm able to eat anything and everything!!

Well guys, I am less than24 hours from my surgery and I have no desire to eat at all! I am thinking that it is a combo of the meds and swelling. I thought about getting an unfill before my sx but never got around to it. I am usually a puker when it comes to anesthesia, but they put a scapolomine (sp?) patch on me before surgery and it worked wonders! I know I had three liters of Fluid during surgery, and sips of Water last night and today...but I have only gone pee three times since yesterday afternoon. I am a little worried about getting an UTI, so I will for myseft to at least drink fluids. I am so excited for you guys who are about to be where I am today. So far, so good for me...praying for the same for you!

Hey Niki!!! Glad you are doing so well, I am going to ask for the patch Monday...I am glad you didn't barf. I advise you to NOT weigh yourself or measure your tummy because that is probably where those 3 liters are!!! May I ask what kind of clothing you wore home and what is the compression garment like?

Mimi

I did not have any Lipo done, so all I have is a tummy binder. The girls are wrapped in gauze as well as the thigh area. I work sweat pants and a zip up hoodie to sx. They suggested something that zipped in front bc it make dressing easier.

So no compression garment for the girls? Thanks for answering my questions.

How did your first shower do? Do you have drains?

I am happy you are doing so well.

My first shower was yesterday and it was great! I didn't need a chair at all! My hubby sat outside the shower just in case I needed anything, but I did just fine!

Yes, I do have one drain. It is in the area of my Tummy Tuck. It had been draining about 75cc the first day, then last night (after my shower) it was up to 100cc! The Fluid was more clear than bloody, so I figure this is from the extra activity.

I took it easy today, (no shower) and have only emptied about 50cc all day. I am also starting to cut back on my percocets...I have not had a bm and I am a little worried about that coming soon! I drank some apple juice today thinking that might help, but no luck yet.

As for my band getting tighter...I have not noticed it yet at all. Although I just had my period, and that is the time of the month I have the most trouble.

Hope this answered your questions

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
