Surgery date set for January 26th!!!!!

Recommended Posts

oh, geez your doctor is really conservative. My three stages total were only 3 weeks. I'm sure they're doing that to keep you from eating because once swelling goes down, you really can eat just about anything...so that's their way of keeping you from going off the deep end.. :cursing: My daughter went and had mexican food the day before surgery for lunch...I never liked her anyway...lol. I think I slipped a few times pre-op and had a small salad..but, otherwise, stuck to it pretty close.

Good luck!!

Hi all - I'm scheduled for Jan 27! Nervous but much more excited. I also do not have a preop diet - just no food after midnight the day before. Post op is 1 week liquids, 2 weeks add mushies, then 3 weeks soft solid foods. I'll get my first fill in 4 weeks! Can't wait to start this journey. I know I need to just. Take one day at a time but it's sooo exciting to think about 4, 6 10 months from now.For the first tim in my adult life I'm starting the year off right. Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to hear fron you all and about your experience.

I'm already to go back for surgery. The doctor said he would be back in an hour to take me back. I think I was more nervous about the pregnacy test they gave me. I didn't really follow the pre-op diet except for giving up pop and some how I was down 6lbs when they checked my weight. I hope everyone else is doing good. I'm thinking about you all. Good luck.

Thanks! Surgery today went well. Having some pain but better than expected at this point. I had surgery at 8:45 and was home by 5pm! I'm glad to be home...it's a lot more comfortable. I had a little bit of nausea after I got out of surgery and they gave me some meds but none since then. Been sipping my Clear Liquids and everything going down fine. I'm hopping that all stays well and dosen't get worse...

How did everyone else day go? Hope well. Well I'm off to try and get some sleep...I'll try and check in tomorrow. Christy

My surgery went great yesterday. I didn’t have any nausea thank god. My surgery was at noon and I got out around 5:30pm. I was in some pain but it wasn’t too bad. I think the hardest part was feeling like your stomach was moved and I had this odd back pain. It was just this odd feeling that took me all night to shake but has gone away now. I was hungry last night but that may have just been because everyone was eating taco bell… lol. I had like 3 popsicles and that seem to do the trick. The doctor told me that I had a bad hiatal hernia especially for my age (24) which he fixed. Which I’m so happy about because I have been on heartburn meds since I was 19 and now I shouldn’t have heartburn anymore! Yay!!! Hope everything goes great for you today meandtheboys.

**can’t wait to hear more from everyone and how you all are doing. Please keep posting stuff over the next few weeks. I love reading how everyone is doing and it’s nice to have people going thru the same stuff as you.

GOOD LUCK!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
