I get banded on the 25th and I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster. I saw the Doc Thur and started the diet, and now I have a cold. I hope I get to keep my Band date. It is a real challange to stay on the diet with this cold, food was my comfort drug.

Hi all! I'm glad you're all doing well with your recent surgeries, it sure makes me feel a little less nervous. I'm sceduled for the morning ( the 18th) I have to leave at 4:30 in the am. It was freezing rain here earlier but it switched over to rain. I hope it doesn't freeze overnight, I have an hours drive in the morning. We're allowing an extra half hour. Good Luck to all up-coming surgeries. I've got to get some sleep, only 5 1/2 hours until I need to get up.... I hope I can get some sleep.... I hope I don't oversleep.... Breathe in... breathe out... hahaha---- Thank You all --- Goodnight and God Bless!

I get my band Jan 25th. Still not 100% sure how im feelling...excited, nervous or is it just the withdwals for coffee? Im ready to get it done and over with so I can move on to better things! I have to admit I did cheat on my pre-op diet tonight with some cheese and crackers. But a girl gets hungry after running aound for 12 hours taking care of patients. It was better than the McD's eveyone else had. Good luck everyone and hope to see how well we all do!

I got my date this morning – Jan 29. I have to go to the doctor’s office tomorrow to pick up my pre op diet stuff. Yum, shakes. I will meet with the surgeon on the 26th and we will go over stuff. I can ask all of my last minute questions at that time.

When I started back in August, it seems like the band was sooooooo far off. I had to complete a 3 month diet as well as all of the usual testing. The whole process took approximately 5 months.

Good luck to all. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello . . . there's several of you just banded or about to be this next week . . . good luck to you all. I was banded on Jan. 12, so I'm new at this. The actual surgery never was a main concern of mine (guess I've had too many already), but the pre- and post-diet of liquids (clear, then clear/full, then etc.) Now I'm on soft food and things are going well. One of the problems for me is not keeping up w/what I'm eating....I'm eating very little, and hardly have a real hungry episode....little meals several times a day seems to work. Looking for get first fill on Feb. 12. :cursing:

Also, under Community on main page, there is a JAN BAND JOURNEYS group...think about this as well to see how all of us banded in January are doing, and of course, let me know what's going on with you! Cheers to all. :scared2:

I was banded on Jan 19th in Australia. Still sore and full of self doubt but hopeful as well... Fluid is going down well. I didn't have to diet or anything before surgery... so its all new to me.

Good Luck! It's by far the strangest thing I've ever gone through! I am thinking the worst part is getting my head around the massive changes in the way I think about food!

Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

I am going to join the ranks of bandsterhood on Wednesday 1/27/10!!! I am excited and have lost 14lbs. so far. I have today and tomorrow of my preop to drop more pounds. I too was afraid of getting surgery cancelled. They want your abdomen and liver to shrink to make the surgery safer. I am nervous about the post surgery diet. I like someones suggestion about adding tofu to the pureed diet and soft food diet to add some Protein. I am having mine done in Daytona Beach Florida too by the way. I am nervous:thumbup: but excited!!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
