Gas-X has been helping me with the gas pains.

At first I couldn't burp but I've had no problem lately!

Walk, walk, walk!

Gas X strips.

Pain Meds.

And, the last few days, I find after eating, if I move my torso around a bit, I tend to burp followed closely by a few hiccups. But I'm 13 days out, so that definitely helps.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. Make sure you stay ahead on your pain meds. If the doc says you can take them every 4 hours, do. Don't try to be brave because that makes it so much worse when you are already feeling the pain and then take the meds.

Sending gentle gas relieving hugs your way!

Nebraska,

I, too, suffered from this problem - but found great relief when I was able to figure out how to release the burps. Leaning forward worked for me. I would put my hands on a table or something and lean forward. Sometimes, I had to hold the pose for a little bit, but then up would come the burp. Sometimes it was quite impressive too! Try it and see if you can get it to work. After a few weeks, I no longer had "stuck burp" issues. :)

I was banded on 12/22 and have the same problem as well. It's like it tries to come up, but it won't come all the way up. Hurts like heck. Then, today, after I took a bite of food, I hiccupped, but just twice and it stopped. Very bizarre!

I remember that wonderful day like it was yesterday...I had bent at the waist to reach for something sitting on the floor and it was like the Burp from heaven!!! It had been almost 2 full weeks and so much pressure and gas. I learned that if I stretched up towards the ceiling with my hands and bend over while reaching out all in one motion it made me start burping. BEWARE....once you start, it's hard to stop. Be careful what you wish for. LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
