Sounds like your on your way to being back on track. I had an MRI a week before my surgery for a pinched nerve still waiting on results, hopefully next week. I'm really bored with the post op selections so I just don't eat or drink, I am ready for some variety and looking forward to working out too.

I go see the doctor Monday and I do believe then I hope when he schedules me for two more weeks out that is when I will get my first fill! Have you been eating soft foods then? I was suppose to be on full liquids until monday then I would graduate to soft foods, but I was so starving that I couldnt wait any longer I had to eat and so thats what I have been doing, but truely watching my portions. I eat have of what is normal or actually it is probably normal but not to what I use to eat. so far I haven't had problems with anything going down my band yet, but then again I think they try to get you mentally prepared for the band so thats why they have a post opt diet. I just started it a 5 days early from the full liquid to soft foods part.

I have a weird feeling with my band too but I usually get it at night time or just when I first get up. I can go all day feeling pretty good but as soon as it gets late I get pains on the left side of my stomache about an inch to the left and up from my belly button. I keep thinking that its the port that is just floating forward or something (lol), but not sure what it is exactly, but I'm sure its normal. I go to the doctor Monday and then will hopefully schedule out in two weeks a fill. Ive been so hungry that I've started to eat some food which I'm ok with, but also don't want to be too tempted on eating bad things. I've lost 22 pounds total so far!

I will be posting more this summer on a blog and on here, this is the greatest encouragement I have found! After surgery walk, walk, walk, do as your Dr.'s instruct and you will do fine, totally serious it seems like one day I was huge and then I wasn't, i did not loose any weight for 4 months and still went down 3 pants sizes, the only exercise I do is walk 30-45 min. a day 4-5 times a week, high protien diet at least 75 grams prot. a day.

hi pam, everyone is different and what works for me might not work for you. As a nurse i see where u coming from with being tired after work all i want to do is take a bath and go to bed. I work 12 hrs shifts so when i work i do not work out but the days that im off i hit the gym. Do you have a gym memebership? the band alone is not going to workout if u dont excersice believe me i been there! start by walking 30 min a day and do light wts with time u can increase your intensity and time. right now im doing a lot of cardio and wts to tone up. Drink a lot of water i drink 3 to 4 32 oz bottles a day and dont forget ur protein and vitamins. it takes a lot of patience to get there but YOU CAN DO IT!!!! my main motivation are my kids! but when u can wear things that u were not able to before it feels sooo good! also looking at other people who had success with the band is a motivation

shibalover I dont think I over did anything. I work out a few times a week and get my heart pumping for an hour at a time and before I had restriction I dieted and watched my calories but now I have restriction and am eating whatever I make my family but I just cant eat very much of it LOL. Ive come to relize I want to do this for life not like a diet. I dont get all my protein in most days but I try and I eat everything but the band helps with the amount. The only tip I have thats a for sure thing is DONT snack because the band wont help with that. I could eat a whole bag of reese cups if I want. so I stay far far away LOL I try not to have that junk in the house. It really is an awesome tool

Today is 3 days post op. I am not sure about the restriction but I know I am not having any problem staying within calorie restriction to loose weight. That is night.

Man i'm telling you, it feels like there is nothing there! I can eat like before. It has been rough and i assume will get rougher for the next 2 weeks until I get a fill. As for my surgery, I still have pain around the big incision, not alot, but i still know its there. I felt for the first time a big lump in my gut just to the right of my big incision yesterday. That kinda scarred me, the nurse here at work says its probably just scarring on the muscle and should reduce over time. How goes the battle for you?
-
Congratulations!! You'll have to let me know how you feel. How was the fill? Do you feel restriction when you eat not? Did you gian weight after eating "normal" for a few weeks, because I am still up 2 pounds!!!!
-
Cool I thought it would be like 2 weeks thats what I told my Job they said it would be ok.

Before my surgery I had lost 13pounds. Im excited and hoping to loose more considering on a two week liquid diet and all. Tomorrow I will be going to the gym to slowly work my way back to the workout I was doing before the surgery (4 1/2)miles. Glad you took the time to enjoy your family and I'm sure that it was much appreciated you cleaning and cooking while you were off!! Each day I'm feeling better, but can't wait for my stomache to go down from being blown up! Just doesn't seem like its happening as fast as I would like it to because I feel like I'm pregant with it still being kinda of big! Talk to you later! Thanks

Hey! I just wondered... when you were having those chest pains last year, what did it end up being? I was banded 12/28/09 with port revision 2/2810. In the last week I've started having this completely random dull achy thing in the center (slight slight slight left) of my chest. Literally feels like it's in my left breast almost! I'm just curious. Does this seem like what you had? Did it resolve? Did the dr. intervene? It seems to have no pattern... can happen a few times a day or several... doesn't matter if I'm full or empty... lying down or standing... morning or night... nada. Completely random.

Hi - I'm doing great! 3 of my incisions are pretty well healed. My port is right below my breast bone and taking a bit longer to heal. Had my pre-op on Tuesday and my dr was happy with me so far. Today was the first day that I really felt like myself! How are you doing?

i was on liq for 2 weeks only and i tell u it was crazy!!! Do you get to eat a sensible dinner at least?
-
I wish I were 250!!! Congrats to you! So far the weight has just been falling off. I eat mostly proteins, I do have carbs but no breads, sweets, sodas, or anything like that. Oh, and no crackers, chips, popcorn - you know, any of the things I would eat like, daily. LOL. I've been going to the gym maybe 3 times a week. But today I was beating myself up because the stupid scale said I went up 2 f'ing pounds. I'm still working on my emotional baggage that I carry!!! Take it easy Sister!

Hi, I'm Sarah. We have surgery scheduled for the same day. 8/9/10! I'm not on a pre-op diet yet. For one week prior to surgery I'll be on 2 protein shakes and a Lean cuisine/ day calories not to exceed 873. They want me to lose 5-10 pounds that week mostly to shrink my liver. I will do my pre-op labs and EKG this week.
Best of luck to you!

So you still think you have made the right decision?? I finish up my testing may 10th then have to make another appt. with the surgeon. Im hoping for a date by june the latest but we'll see. My diet is going ok, Its not crazy strict so ive just been trying to change a few things. Only lost 3 lbs but thats better then nothing. I just started swimming today...love it!

I go to see my surgeon tomorrow. I have lost 30 lbs so far just from taking the 3 month nutrition class that my insurance mandates. I thought for awhile that I might not need the surgery, but then I hit a plateau. I have been watching youtube every night and driving my husband crazy from that! OMG, he would die if I ever got a tattoo! You go girl! I love it that I have someone to chat with now! My name is Kelly - jksteggeman@embarqmail.com. I do facebook, but I haven't told hardly anyone about my impending surgery. I like to keep that to myself - want to avoid others gossiping about it.
-
YAY!!! congrats on getting this far, i am a week away from surgery and i am so excited too...i hope we can help each other through post op!...good luck with your surgery!!!

It is hard! I am sory for the delayed response! I haven't bene on in forever! I dont know I was banded in August 2008 and I went from 246lbs to 220lbs and thats it. I got down to 200 and then went back up to 234lbs. It is a constant battle. i think I have had 10 fills and go for another next week. I go to the gym and eat right and get soo disappointed. I am trying to look up right now. Congrats on your weightloss so far! I wish I have lost that much!
-
Thank you very much Leigha i'm so happy with my decision right now that it hard to believe sometimes thats it's barely going to be a week since my surgery. I'm happy i decided to do this young so i won't be having issues when i'm older

The last time I went in for a fill I should have been at 4ccs but the doctor could only pull out 3. So he put back in a full cc and said next time I come in we will see if I have the 4 in there that should be. This also happened my very first fill, when I should of had 3 but he only found 2. So now all I can do is wait to see if we pull out the full 4 next time. I do have to say I know I am not at my sweet spot but I can definetly feel a difference with this last fill. I see I have to chew my food alot more that I had to in the past! As for excercising! In the begining I was on track, really kicking butt! I have definetly lost motivation. I need to get back on the band wagon so to say haha : ) have a great week
