  1. I was looking through my packet for the information for you. My surgeon ‘s packet says $14,500 for self pay. Good LUCK
  2. Congrats can't wait until I'm there good luck
  3. I haven’t been banded yet, but I think my out of pocket max will be around $2,000. It has not been a quick process for me. I went through my insurance company to find a surgeon that was in network and reputable.
  4. Are you self pay? I went thorugh my insurance company.

Good luck I have you been to a seminar of support group yet?
  6. Good luck to both of you...I cant wait my consultation is not until 12/01
  7. I felt the same way after I went to the support group meeting 10/23/10. I think everyone should attend at least one.
  8. Better new clothes and hair...than weight watcers
  9. At the seminar they told me that the band does have some fluid in it when they put it in.
  10. I my opinion if I’m having a problem post-op or pre-op, and someone just says….”I don’t have an answer b/c I’m not banded yet. But Good Luck to you and your journey” that’s still encouraging and positive. They might not be banded yet but maybe they have seen another post where someone has had the same problem and can direct you to the post or person. Not only that, it refreshed the Forum so other people can see it in the Latest Post section. I’m not banded yet but I’m I will continue to encourage and support even if I’m not banded yet. Sorry if it frustrates you
  11. Well I feel like it's taking forever (but maybe I'm inpatient) Seminar was 10/11, turned in packet 10/19 and now I'm playing the waiting game. Sigh... she said at the seminar that United Health Care has been known to sometimes take 30 days for pre approval.

Soory about that, I know I could afford it if insurance didn't cover it 80%..Have you found any other options yet?
  13. I attended a support group last night and it was inspirational. When you talk to people in your life that can’t relate to what you are going through but they try and support you anyway that’s great, but last night I got a change to fellowship with people who knew exactly what I was going through. These were people who were from all different backgrounds but who were brought together for the same reason their struggled with weight. I was also able to ask questions, one lady even let me fill where her port was (wow) she has been banded since May and is down 68lbs. After a lady in her 50’s broke down and told her story about how she hated to look in the mirror and how she was doing this for herself I was in tears. Anyway this is just my experience, I think everyone should consider going to a support group or a couple of support groups if they are deciding to do this. They remind you that you are truly not alone.

  15. I wondering if some of the ppl who have been banded for a while and have had great success can say what has really worked for you:redface:.... What has caused you to be a success. How have you worked with your band.
  16. When are you planning on getting banded...I cant wait for mine.
  17. That sucks I have an IUD (have had it since Feb) I wonder what they will tell me..
  18. Hi, congrats in getting banded... can you tell me a little about your surgery day? Just overall how it went.
  19. Wow...I think this should be required reading before you get the bad. I had it all wrong I thought is was about restricting the amount of food that you could it. I makes sense to me. But is it true????
  20. I have heard a lot of people saying that after their complications they gained the weight back. My question is how? Are they not eating right and exercising? Or is it just automatic that since the band has gone bad you will gain the weight back? I’m just curious if the band helps me loose all the weight wont eating right and exercising help me keep it off not matter what complications may occur with the band later on down the line?
  21. How would you say you gained the weight back? Is it becasue you had no restriction? Just asking...Good luck
  22. Every surgeon is different. I went to the seminar 10/11/10 the gave me a packet to complete. Turned it in 10/19/10. Now I'm wating to here back from them.
