  3. Hey Stephanie I haven't been banded yet I'm waiting on my surgery date, but any questions that you have about my juorney so far I'd be happy to answer. Take Care and Good Luck on your journey
  4. In November I upgraded my insurance from United Health Care “Choice” to “Choice Plus” My only reason for doing this was that the out of pocket max was $2500 with choice and $2000 with choice plus. What I did not realize is that with “Choice Plus” the band is covered at 100% instead of 08/20. I put $2000 in medical spending account to pay for this and now I only have to pay $100 to the hospital. I guess I’ll use the remaining $1900 on dental work and post-op copays…YAY
  5. Great job you should be proud!
  6. LOL I know how you feel. Good Luck
  7. From what I have read and what my surgeon told me some people do not feel restriction until they have had a few fills, while some don't need any fills. Not everyone fills restriction right away. But no restriction does not mean don't follow the diet. It's mind over matter. Try not looking so much for restriction and try to follow the diet and exercise a little more. You will get to you sweet spot soon enough. Ps: If you find that you have fallen off the wagon get back up and try try again. Good Luck!
  8. Welcome and Good luck on your journey!

  14. Hi. Barbie welcome, I decided to have the band because it’s reversible if something goes wrong or if later in my life I get sick. With the band they are not changing/re-routing anything in my body. My advice to you would be research them both, weigh the pros and cons of both and then make you decision. This site has a lot of good info on it. Some have had success with the band some have not. Good Luck Ps: In my opinion with the bypass you may lose quicker but you will have more loose skin, and a greater chance of gaining it back.
  15. God I hope this does not happen to me..From what I undestand once I pay my out of pocket max which is $2000 my insurance covers everything else 100%.

  22. Welcome Vonda, and congrats on your success
  23. Hey Erin Good Luck on your journey! My surgeon said that my ideal weight is 150lbs which makes me 130lbs overweight he said that the band could help me lose 60% of that. Which would mean about 78lbs. Losing 78lbs would put me around 198lbs. I haven’t weighted that much since high school. Thi seems to be a realistic goal for me.
