  3. I will be choosing Barimate. Not done it yet as I had to reload my itunes account. Will keep u tuned in.
  4. Hi Day 4-6 were horrible for me and now 2 weeks into it I feel great. Just hold on and be patient. The time will come. Take care
  5. Hi Not sure if this is old news... but I just randomly searched for a lap band app on my iPhone and surprisingly it came up with 3 apps!!!! They all pretty much do the same.... BMI, weight tracking, fill tracking, but the barimate seems so cool. You can add pics straight from your iPhone for progress, you get an image projecting what you might look like for inspiration, etc etc etc! I am STOKED!:tongue2:

  7. I had some home made red lentil soup (YUMMY!!!!)... note I am 2 weeks post op! Lentil Soup with Coriander and Tomatoes 1 T olive oil 2 medium brown onions, chopped finely 2 cloves garlic, crushed ¾ cup red lentils 2 – 400 gm tins of tomato 2 liters (8 cups) chicken stock 1/3 cup finely chopped parsley 1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves (cilantro) 2 tsp turmeric 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp black pepper Pinch cumin Cook 1 ½ hours or until lentils are very tender. Reserve 2 cups of soup. Blend the rest. Serve sprinkled with cumin.
  8. Hi I am still in the liquid/mushy stage and I do find it hard to get my Protein up atm. But also, I am thinking of what foods to eat when I will be able to eat real food (something that worries me!). SO... what are your fave high protein food????????
  9. Awesome... 144 is around my goal weight... hope I can post the same soon!
  10. Diuretics are typically prescribed medicines... and can be dangerous if taken without Dr's advice, it can lower your blood pressure.
  11. Wow. Glad to hear all is better. I don't think my Dr does anything with a scope and barium.... just freezes and injects. IS that normal? Do they always do the scope/barium???
  12. Not sure if I am right on this... but it's pretty hard to get 60-80g of Protein in the liquid phase... unless you can have 3-4 protein shakes a day. I think it's doable later on, but difficult in the early days. I have been trying to get my protein up, but very difficult as my Dr says liquids for 4 wks. Why don't you have a glass of Water or juice when you feel really hungry? That seems to help me with my hunger.... But I am with you, it's so hard to have all that yummy food that used to be our best friend around you... we'll get there. We've basically gone "cold turkey" from our addiction... it will take time for our addiction centre to adjust. HTH
  13. Candy rain... don't worry.... made me laugh.... I licked the peanut butter off the knife this morning when making toast for the kids too! No harm done... we'll get there, in our own time.
  14. Hi Just thought I'd start a random thread.... to see what has been GOOD and what has been...well... not so good! UPS: - losing almost 12 lbs in 7 days - seeing a difference in my clothes - hearing ppl say they can see a difference - being able to go through this with my friend - full support my husband DOWNS: - the frigging gas pains! - the nausea - the back/shoulder pain - I miss my friend... food! - lack of diversity in what I can have What are your UPS and DOWNS?
  15. My Dr does it after 4 weeks, but tbh.... at this moment in time (7 days post op), I am not really looking forward to it! I will just be getting to the normal food stage when I will have to regress back to liquids..... shoot me!
  16. Thanks everyone. Today was not so great, again with the gas pains. Lord! Went for a walk with the kids, might try the heat pad later. Definitely no straws anymore! I am petrified of them now! LOL:wink2:
