Restriction- What Do You Mean?
I asked my doc yesterday when I got my fill and he said it'll make you fuller longer, so you won't feel the need to eat as much. I got 5.5ccs put in yesterday and I just ate my first meal tonight and I definitely feel fuller, and it's lasting longer (I had dinner about 2 hours ago and I still can physically feel the fullness) but I don't feel like I ate any less that I was before. . Oh and I agree, I don't crave crap anymore, it's so weird

Little restriction but getting stuck all the time.
It's never gonna stop you from eating. Remember that. Hmm I'd say either your bites are too big, you are eating too much, or your band is too tight? I never get stuck either, maybe everyone reacts differently?

Restriction- What Do You Mean?
Yea it's a lot of head hunger, I just had a big fill, and even before it, I'm never hungry, it's all mental, and I want food, I'm used to looking for food everywhere I would go, it's hard to stop that. And like said above, I eat pretty much whatever. I keep it within reason, but I really don't feel deprived at all

tell me you love your band!
I like mine!! I'll be a voice of encouragement here. I have had ZERO problems so far. I've lost 26 pounds in 5 weeks. I know it can be scary reading everything people have to say. Everything is actually pretty easy, yes you have to work, it takes a while to learn everything you need to know but it becomes easy after a while. I don't feel it nearly as limiting as a regular diet

Eating mushies question.
The gas sticks around a while, just walk, and burp haha. You are eating only like 1/4-1/2 cup food right, and slowly?

Crock pot meals please!

MASSIVE Sweets Cravings
I found the best thing ever! Hershey's makes sugar free Chocolates, I got the Special Dark ones (those are least sugary to begin with) and one little fun size bar is 30 calories. Tastes good!! I can't tell it's sugar free, and cures my chocolate fix if I need it . I take really small bites and savour it. I wouldn't eat a ton because it has lots of fake sugar, but once in a while I'm sure it's ok. Also I got some cocoa dusted almonds, they are little 100 calorie packs, it's a little sweet, and almonds are very filling, and the new Jello mousse ones are great too, and sf fudgicals

Restriction- What Do You Mean?
That sounds about right stateofzen. I think people are wishing it would stop them physically from eating, and they would feel stuffed with a small amount of food. But they will never get that feeling. It's all up to me what I put in my mouth and how much. For me, the band stops me from being hungry so my mind doesn't want to eat all the time like on a regular diet.

Vegetable
If you are on regular, salad should be fine. I just don't chose them because there is no Protein, and it's not very filling. But I have had them, no problem. My book says don't add em in till week 12.. but I had one or two small ones w/o a problem.. I think raw veggies don't digest very well.

To swallow or not to swallow
No, the bites you are taking should be pencil eraser size. I think thats a little small, but just SMALL in general, no huge fork full of anything.
-
To swallow or not to swallow
I chew enough, but I don't mush it to the point it's not recognizable. Just eat slowly, and cut things up pretty small. Like for me, for example if I'm having sushi, I'll cut one piece of the roll in to 4 or 5 bites, versus eating it all at once. I don't do pencil eraser size, but just make sure it's small. I also bought a shrimp fork and a tiny spoon that helps a lot.

9cc in Realize band with no restriction
I still don't quite understand all this fill business. I have nothing in my band yet (I'm going today for my fill) I'm still working on my weight loss, doing what I'm supposed to, losing weight, and I'm not hungry all the time. Are you guys hungry all the time? Or are you just looking for the full feeling? I don't quite understand. I know we have to control what goes it, it's gonna do it for you.

Caffeine
Yea, and it says it increases your appetite as well. I don't think it would hurt to drink it.. but it's just not worth it to me, I was a soda drinker anyways! I've been off caffine since November, I feel totally normal, I don't miss it or need it.

Advice for Husband who is Micro-Managing Food Intake
My parents do it a little when I see them. I guess it's good, but it's a personal battle I wanna deal with on my own. Well remember, he's only trying to help. I'd try to not get offended, but I'd also tell him, this is my battle, and I have to learn on my own.

Job interview tomorrow....
I'm job hunting too! I told my mom I'm not buying an outfit until I get an interview because it won't fit by then! Haha. Nothing is more uncomfortable than interview outfits, so I'm glad to lose weight and find something that fits good and looks nice

What would you do?
I wouldn't worry about it. There are HUGE risks too when you are 450 pounds, the bypass is more serious, and 7 years ago they weren't nearly as skilled at it. I wouldn't feel bad, this is your decision, if they have a problem it's unrelated.

Iphone users is there a good food journal app?
I'm gonna check it out. I was using one, I forget the name, but it was giving all these things based on normal people. Not accounting that I had the band so that bothered me.

Confused!! What is "Mushi" Foods!!
For me: my book says pureed says things like: cream of wheat, or cream of rice, pureed oatmeal thinned with skimmed milk, grits thinned with skimmed milk, non fat milk, cottage cheese, smooth sugar free yogurt, non fat ricotta cheese, sugar free plain puddings, sorbet applesauce, Gelatin, popsicles and custard. juice diluted with Water, baby food fruits, Protein shakes, baby food meats or pureed meats, pureed nonfat refried Beans, pureed lentils, strained lowfat cream Soup, broth bullion, consomme, thinned mashed potatoes Then Soft foods: All things above plus scrabled soft cooked or poached eggs, egg substitute, egg salad, mashed banana, pureed fruit, cooked pureed beets, carrots, pumpkin, squash, dried beans, peas or lentils, bean soups or lowfat chowders, lean ground beef, pork, chiken or turkey, fish, tuna, soft low fat cheeses, pureed bean dishes, powdered soy, baby shrimp, low fat creamy Peanut Butter, imitation crab meat, mashed potatoes w/o skin, plain crackers, toast For me it was pretty much pureed was anything that was REALLY small pieces or could be mushed up really well in your mouth (I ate a lot of chili and oatmeal). Then soft foods, things with a little more substance, I mostly ate things like chicken and egg salad, it's pretty much normal eating, but just things that are easy to digest, no red meat, no hard veggies.

Does Sashimi count as soft food
Hmm, yea I would think so, just chew it up really good, and make sure it's soft. I'm totally obsessed with sushi lately, and I've been having a lot of Ahi, It's the perfect amount, luckily I'm not having any trouble with rice. (I'm 5 weeks post op)

OTC Sleeping Pills
I haven't taken any post op, but I always would take simply sleep or whatever at the grocery store. Shouldn't have any problems taking pills after a couple of weeks.

Tummy tucks and boob jobs
I would guess they would sag if you lose that much weight, that quickly. I also think some people just do it for personal reasons, they are skinny they want to look their best
