  1. That is fantastic! Good for you!!!
  2. I was always amazed at how much more people commented about my weightloss when I wore clothes that fit. I think it is hard to do it when we are use to wearing baggy clothes to "hid". I even would go as far as to say clothes felt tight when they actually fit but the clothes I wore were so baggy I wasn't use to wearing them correctly. Congrats to you and good luck!
  3. I love this! Before I lost weight, I would read things like these and think how nice would that be. I still get a little choked up when these things happen to me. Wearing regular sizes! The first time I put on a size 10 I had to sit down in the dressing room because I was so overwhelmed. And this was after I tried on the 16, then the 14, then the 12 and finally the 10! Definitely seeing and feeling bones! who knew they were there! Seeing before pictures and seeing a HUGE difference! Running with my kids and not being out of breath. not even worrying that I will need the seatbelt extender on a plane. Good luck to everyone! Its the best feeling to finally feel good and everyone is capable!!!!!
  4. You look great! Good for you!
  5. My husband is supportive but there is times when I wonder if he deep down has reservations. I have lost almost half of my size. I feel different to him. Overall he loves the new me but sometimes he will comment about liking the old me too. I do get scared but I am happy with the new me.
  6. Im down 2lbs. I forgot to write it down on thursday. Only a few more days until the final weigh in. I thought i would have lost more but a big victory for me is this christmas i got clothes from a store other than lane brayant!
  7. I am weighing in for this week. Down 2 pounds. I missed last week weigh in because I was away with the family for a week. I am happy with no gain over the vacation. To be honest though I was really good and walked a lot. Since being back I have tried a piece of chocolate here or tasted a holiday cookie there. I feel I could be doing better but I also let myself off the hook a little because with vacation and the holiday a 2 pound loss is outstanding. UGH! When does this get easier?!?!?! HAHAHA!!!!!!
  8. I'm a little late. I hope I can still join. Good luck everyuone. Just getting through the holidays without a gain is a job well done!!!! 9. I would love to get in on a December challenge. Congrats to all who worked so hard on the Thanksgiving challenge!!!!
  10. Same thing for me. I had been the same number since the end of January! But yet my body is different and I have been able to buy smalller clothes in that time so something is changing! I just went for a fill on Friday and I am already down weight so that is helping finally! But I agree with DeeDee, maybe the scale isn't moving but there are other changes happening. Stay strong!
  11. That is fantastic! What a great feeling! I just had that same thing happen to me. I cannot believe I own 18's and they fit!
  12. Wow, you are doing fantstic! I don't know about the Vitamin D but as far as the eating goes, I made myself a cup and ate what I could. I would put a cup of say cottage cheese in a bowl and would just try to eat what I could. If I didn't finish it, it was fine. Slowly I did start to want it all and even more to be honest. As far as getting stuck, that only happened to me once I had a few fills and it felt like I had to burp but instead of only air coming out, the food I just swallow came up too. It isn't like throwing up in the sense that there is bile too. Just what you just swallowed. To try and avoid this, take very small bites to begin with. Good luck!
  13. I would like to join too! I am having surgery soon so I really need to watch what i eat since I have to be totally un-filled! : (
  14. I read once that if you got up and marched in place during the comericals of 2 hours worth of TV, you would get enough exercise for the day. When i am really pressed to get the exercise in, I will wait until the kids go to bed and march in place while watching my favorite show. Since most have DVR's and fast forward commericals, I just march during the show. I will mix it up by lifting my arms in the air and bringing them down on to the leg I am lifiting or lunge or do jumping jacks. Some days after doing this I am actually sore!
  15. When I was on mushies, I made home made mashed potatoes made with skim milk, smart balance, a little salt and pepper and low fat cheese (that melted on the hot potatoes) oh my gosh they were so good! I also likes oatmeal and cottage cheese with sugar free strawberry applesauce.
  16. I am curious about the carb thing too. My nuturtionist said to just eat better choices and smaller portions. She did not say I had to limit carbs. I have wheat toast every morning. I was also told I could have lean cuisines for lunch or dinner. You guys got me second guessing that.
  17. Wow Congrats! I bet you are rocking those size 10's!!!!!
  18. WOW! That is fantastic! Good for you!
  19. I am so sorry for all you are going through. I was banded the same day as you and I would hate to have such a huge set back. I wanted to tell you that when I was first looking into lapband and looking at this site, I read a lot of lapband blogs. I can remeber one who had the same problem as you. She got a terrible infection, had to have her port removed, had a huge painful hole and was on a ton of antibotics. When I read her blog she had lost a lot of weight. I remember the timeline was something like she got banded in oct, had her port removed in nov, was cleared for surgery again in dec/jan when she had a new port put in. When I read her blog it was early summer and she had a lot of success since the port was put in. I would talk with your doctor and I wouldn't take no for an answer. Good luck! Stay strong!
  20. I had my second fill on friday and I am now up to 4cc in a 10cc band. I can definately still eat but I get full faster and it last longer. Overall though, it is still not to the point that most people explain. I talked to my doctor yesterday and I said I was fine where I am, even though they would give me a little more. I am afraid of being sick or geting stuck. I figure as long as I am losing, I would rather be a little less full. I feel like I don't feel a change but at the same time I am full longer so there is a change. So who knows. I am still trying to figure this all out!
  21. Wow, good for you! That is fantastic! I am one pound away from that victory myself! And here's to never ever gain them back!
  22. It's funny because I am not even huingry right now but all I keep thinking is how I need to eat my lunch. food is always on my mind and just before I read this, I thought to myself "you are not even hungry" But yet food is on my mind. Other then the morning I am rarely hungry yet I do eat. I am trying to always make good choices but I do wonder sometimes when the complusion to eat will go and to REAL need to eat will come. Good luck, stay strong!
  23. I am curious as to what everyone eats. I was banded July 26th. I had a good weight loss before and right after surgery but it has been at a stand still for the last few weeks. From my post-op one week appointment to this past monday (4weeks) I only lost 2lbs. When I got weighed Monday I almost cried. I have been what I think to be pretty good. I eat oatmeal or yogurt with lowfat granola for Breakfast, cottage cheese and sugar free applesacue for lunch, a low fat spring cheese for snack and a regualr homecooked low fat dinner (chicken with vegis most of the time) Other times in the past when I dieted, I have never been this good and yet I lost. I am so discouraged. On top of that, I had my first fill and I really don't feel a difference. I feel like I am starving myself for nothing. I mean I went to a party saturday where everyone was drinking and eating and smoking, all things I loved but gave up and for what 2 lbs in 4 weeks?!? Oh right and for my health! haha OH, and I only drink Water. At least 60ozs a day but usually way more. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I am only 3 weeks out so I personally have no experience but I thought I would comment. I have a dear friend who is the ONLY person I know to lose weight with diet and exercise and actually keep it off. She works out hard and she is looks fantastic! She hardly ever eats carbs. She focuses completely on protien. She of course does have carbs in fruit and there is carbs in protien shakes but never ever bread or Pasta. Since like I said I am only a few weeks out I just thought I would throw my little knowledge in that yes I do think that a low carb high protien way is probably the right way. But then again i could be totally wrong! haha
  25. we also have it at our house. we have wii fit plus and it is fantastic! my husband who is a very active person was even breaking out in a sweat the other day doing it. i like it because on really hot days you can do some exercise from the privacy of your own house. it keeps track of what you do and how much you have burned.
