Anyone going to the OH Conference this weekend?
Didn't know there was a conference? Exactly what is it?

Are any of you cold a lot??
I am freezing as I read this. I've been cold everyday. I work in a room with four cubicles. We have our own thermostat, I'm always making it warmer. The other girls are always hot, one even keeps a fan running at her desk at alllllllll times! I find myself drinking more hot tea to keep warm and taking extra walks in the building to warm up!

New, contemplating Lap Band, and have some questions!
I have blue cross blue shield also in texas. Mine was covered. It was covered as long as I followed proper guidelines they set forth. 6 month nutritional counseling, and a handful of other things. You may want to find a doctor and have them contact the insurance for you and inquire using the proper billing code. I wouldn't throw in the towel so easily. The band will help you with consuming mass quantities of food when you have proper restriction. You will have to do your part to control what you put into your mouth and your emotional binges. It's no easy solution, but it's not impossible and it can be done! Good luck!

End of Year Challenge
UDPATE: I've hit my 1/3 of my goal! 10 pounds down, 20 to go  Good luck everyone!

is anyone noticeing your weight loss?
I didn't start getting questions until about the 50 pound mark. More recently, my husband told me that the neighbor was asking him questions  Good to see that even from across the street, people notice! I get the compliments more frequently as people are very excited about my journey. They seem to notice more, perhaps because they are paying more attention to my progress now!

About to have a melt down here...
I would definately get that bloodwork checked out just to be sure all your levels are okay. I know when i'm fatigued, my Iron is usually the culprit  I hope everything perks up for you! Good luck!

How I Handle A Craving
I was craving sweets. I attributed it to the mashed potatoes that had come back into my diet during the mushy food stage and the small amount of bread creeping back in. I decided to go cold turkey again with those carbs and it's gotten a lot better!

What's for dinner tonight?
WELLLLL I was supposed to have some pot roast that my hubs was putting in the crock pot, but when i called him at 3:30 to make sure this was done, the pot roast hadn't come out of the freezer! GOOD GRIEF! So looks like i'll be heading to the grocery store and buying a rotisserie chicken from the deli! However, these chickens they have prepared are my friend when I dont feel like cooking. I'll utilize the leftovers into chicken salad, add veggies/broth and turn it into soup, or on top of salad.

Vitamin Water Zero
I just got the Powerade zero, it's yum. I am allergic to crystal light and don't care much for the Vitamin Water. Plain water is just boring, so I like the powerade zero's to change it up here and there. I buy the 32 ounce ones and only drink one or two a week. I like to freeze them and have an icy slushy treat.

How often do you weigh yourself?
I weight myself about twice every 10 days. I usually get the urge to weigh myself more often if I KNOW i've been trying hard to do good  The number is the reassuring prize for the hard work! My nutritionist gets upset at me for focusing so much on numbers!

anyone worried it won't work?
I'm not worried about the band doing it's part, I know that's gonna work. The part that worries me daily is whether I am doing my part! The band is only part of the puzzle, I still have to work to undo 26 years of bad eating habits! I know my band won't fail me and because I am determined I will not fail my band.

New Weight loss tip
I got tired of eggs too and found myself eating chicken salad and tuna for breakfast last week! lol

Ins covering revisions?
Hope someone has insight! I've wondered this as well. While I don't plan on taking my band out, i'd like to know if my insurance would pay to fix or replace it should an issue every come up.

The little things you noticed about your weight loss
When you are 364 pounds in a ford focus, that steering wheel sure can get close to the belly! With my weightloss, I notice that I don't feel so HUGE in my car anymore! The steering wheel is SO far away and I actually have room to bend over and pick up something I may have dropped on the floor mat!

End of Year Challenge
My fill was on the 18th and i've only weighed myself once on the 22 and was down 5 pounds! This number could also reflect the exercise regimen i've incorporated. Either way, i'm following my dietary guidelines exactly and exercising more so i'm hoping this will all pay off come december 31!

End of Year Challenge
My loss slowed down a bit about 10 days before my first fill was due. I got my fill and now the weight is coming off again. I'm hopeful i'll hit the goal, but time will tell! I've started exercising and I think i'm losing inches now. The pants I bought three weeks ago are getting big in the thigh and butt region! argh!

This band is going to cost us a fortune...
Okay so I had a lot of gift cards to jcpenney left over from wedding gifts, they've been sitting in my wallet for nearly a year and decided to just spend them on ME! ha I went out there today and only bought two shirts and on bottom, I'm reluctant to buy a lot of clothes since it'll all be too big anyway! I was happy that the 1x finalllllllly fit, I was wearing 3x and 4x! I also conquered my fashion enemy.................the legging! I even broke down and bought a pair of jeggings that went with one of the shirts i bought :smile2: I tried them on when I got home and my husband was like "WOW, you've lost A LOT of weight, you look great!" :blushing:

Did you lose lbs on the pre-op, and did it stay off post-op?
I lost about 17 pounds during that pre op diet. I kept it off and after surgery have continued to steadily shed the pounds. I hit a slowing point about two weeks ago, but got my first fill last week and it seemed to kick everything back into gear along with my new exercise regimen :blushing: Good luck!
-
I did it!
The hard part is over, I finally got off my butt and started exercising! I had been walking here and there since surgery but not actively forcing myself. Last week, I started forcing myself to commit to at least 3 nights a week. I was surprised that I was able to last a lot longer before getting tired. I was down 70 before getting on the exercise bandwagon and getting that initial weight off is making the movement so much easier! I even made it to 2.5 miles this week and it feels great, the soreness is starting to subside now! The great weather makes the walks around the neighborhood enjoyable. :w00t:

This band is going to cost us a fortune...
I recently asked my mom about alterations and whether she knew anyone. I have a lot of business attire work shirts that I would prefer to alter, depending on the cost of course! I'm going to look into it!

This band is going to cost us a fortune...
I absolutely love that I need smaller clothes, but i'm not loving that it costs money to buy clothes! Unfortunately for me, my job in cancer research pays poverty wages and I can't endulge in this shopping the way I want to! I asked my husband for a James Avery charm bracelet for Christmas. We agreed for every 20 pounds lost, I would get a charm from him  It will be a nice way to commemorate the journey for me. My mom said when I went home from thanksgiving, she would buy me some clothing, I can't wait! It's hard to still pull off wearing clothing I wore 75 pounds ago! I'm looking baggy! :w00t:

Can I have your opinions about what the doctor said
I HATE that doctors pull that BS about not being able to lose a lot of weight with the band. I had a doctor tell me that............got rid of him and went to only that solely does lapband. I wish they would stop telling people that! If you are committed to the process, you can totally do this with a lapband!

I love these stories since I am one who also has about 200 pounds to lose! Congratulations on your amazing weight loss!
