  1. Hi All, I have had fat tumors for years. I at least four on my stomach. I was wondering if anyone else has had them and if they can cause problems with a sleeve surgery? I plan on asking my doctor next week when I see him but wanted to know about others. Nancy
  2. Also it is very rare for a non surgical "normal" person to have trouble not getting enough protein.
  3. Have you tried any of the bariwise products? They have bars that are 190cal low fat with 15g of protein.
  4. Hi, I haven't been sleeved yet I go in 8-24 but it is my understanding that those who develop leaks after passing the no leak test are those r eat too much too soon, have a lot of vomiting, or lifted something heavier then allowed. If you were to develop a leak you would know you would feel sick and be in pain sometimes there is actually fluid coming from the lap sites. An abscess is an infection they would treat it with antibiotics sometimes the pus needs to be drained. It would not get noticed.
  5. Hi, I did consider weights but I didn't think I could pull it off I can't even lie about my age...I am just a terrible liar(G) Mr Mason I have a friend who just finished the options program today at PC she has actually decided to not go through with the sleeve because of the class they scared her out of it. dcokequeen Lancaster is still backed up partly because of the remodel partly because they are only allowing a small amount of beds there for now. I believe they also do the surgeries at Harbor/southbay but do not know what their rep is.
  6. Hi All, I imagine after my sleeve I'll end up with a pair of empty saggy skin sacs. I was a barely B cup before I started to gain now I am a large C. I am 54 for I am not too sure vanity will get me to have them done. Nancy
  7. Hi, I did not qualify for Kaiser my BMI is 36 and I just could not start out this journey by gaining 20+lbs in order to qualify so I am doing self pay at Northridge. I was wondering if you know if I can get any of my pre-op labs done through Kaiser? Also I worry about what if I have complications will Kaiser refuse to give me care? Nancy
  8. Hi All, I just got my surgery date it is Aug 24th at Northridge hospital by Dr Lyass, excited and scared. Nancy
  9. I was turned down by Kaiser too they want you have a BMI of 40 or greater or 35 or greater with either diabetes or sleep apnea joint pain HTN or cholesterol are not considered as qualifying comorbidities in their book. Stinks.
  10. If they do test for stds it would be for HIV and syphilis.
  11. Hi All, I am still pre surgery hopefully I will be getting sleeved next month. I go for power walks 4-5 days a week for an hour and a half. I have been doing this for years it is the only exercise that I have ever been able to stick with. I do worry if this won't be considered enough exercise after I am sleeved.
  12. I was quoted 15,700 at Northridge Ca.
  13. Hi All, I have Kaiser but do not qualify for the surgery through them my BMI is 36 they want 40 or 0ver unless you have diabetes which I don't so I will be self paying here in the states. My question is if I were to develop complications would I be able to have them treated through Kaiser or would it also end up being self pay? Also would I be able to apply the costs of the surgery to my deductible? Thanks Nancy
  14. I have a friend who is just finishing her options class in Panorama. She got her referral in Feb started class in May and has been told that it will be about 4 months before they schedule her surgery. We live in Santa Clarita about halfway between Lancaster and Panorama so she asked about both places and they told her that Lancaster had a longer waiting list and less classes. What I found a bit off is that they want her lose 10% of her weight during the option classes which isn't bad but that if you do not keep it off while waiting those months surgery may be postponed. On the plus side they have pretty much talked her out of it for now which is good because she really isn't ready just yet. Nancy
  15. Hi I am just starting the process in Ca. I do not meet the criteria of Kaiser BMI>40 or .35 with type 2 diabetes I have HTN and high cholesterol and my BMI is 36. Anyway I will still need to meet with a dietician and get a psyche eval. I forgot to ask about the prediet.
  16. Hi, You may want to look at Kaiser Panorama City Kaiser I have heard there is a long waiting list at Lancaster as it is it takes almost a year from referral to surgery they also are very strict with some of their requirements.
