Two months today and feeling hopeful!
Well today is two months since being banded & I've lost 27 lbs. A lot of people have lost more but I'm making progress & that's what counts for me. I started this journey to lose weight but also to gain back my independence. I haven't been able to walk for more than 3 minutes at a time for almost a year & a half. I got the H1N1 flu & was hospitalized for a week. When I came home it was another 10 days before I had the strength to do much walking. When I did my back felt like it was going to explode. Short version of story after every Neuroscience Specialist, MRI & test available, more injections to the spine than a porcupine , physical therapy & gaining 61 lbs. on a already chunky body...phew! I decided to pay for the LAP-BAND® (Ins. wouldn't cover) myself. It's a gamble to see if this is weight related but I'll feel better regardless. I'm already moving around better & I went back to physical therapy today. My clinic has a pool with a treadmill built in the bottom. They lower the water for me & I jog on it for 30 minutes. In the water I'm fine & in no pain:confused: this leads me to believe it could be a weight issue. Well whatever it is I'm not giving up with out a fight. I'm only 55 years old & I have a lot of living left to do! I hope everybody goes out today & makes it the Best Day possible!

My Heart Attackiversary
Wow reading your story took me back 18 months ago when I had my last cigarette. This isn't funny but when you described that cigarette leaving the hospital I felt I was smoking it with you..lol It is a really hard habit to break. I smoked 35 years & I still miss them sometimes but I feel so darn good now! Good luck on your surgery & that might be the perfect time to quit! Just sayin'

My band...
I know how you feel. I have the same size band & I'm on fill #3. It's a little better I have 6cc. in the band now but wish I didn't eat as much food each meal. People talk about a half a cup of food filling them up & it lasting for hours. That's what I want for a more rapid weight loss. Tomorrow is two months & I've lost 27lbs. which is good but I'm hungry still a lot of the time. Looking for that sweet spot people talk about

Training...all for nothing or something??
Sorry about the race & going through surgery again:( But you sound like you've got the right attitude to start again. I was happy to see you mentioned the race was in Seattle, Washington. I grew up in Seattle & don't see many people on this site from Washington. I now live in the desert portion of the state. Not as pretty but very little rain. We also share the same birthday...small world. Well this is starting to sound creepy so I will end it & say Good Luck were all rooting for you :-)! lol

It's Been Two Weeks Post Surgery
Was the pain from the surgery the horrible experience your talking about? If so it does get better with time. Everybody heals at a different rate & pain levels vary between people. I wouldn't get to worried about the weight gain. Your body's healing & needs time. When you start getting fills then you will start to see a change, but even then we have to be patient. We will come out the winner on this weight loss battle I just know it! Keep posting & let us know how your doing. We care:)

1st Visit
I use a chewable multivitamin. I use Centrum silver because I'm over 50 yrs. old. They have Centrum in a lot of varieties for different ages & sexes. I like the citrus berry flavor, but anything you can chew would be just fine. I've also added a extra B-12 1000mg. for hair loss. Hope this helps
