  1. Hello guys, I would love to hear how everyone's first week was?!?!? Mine has been filled with a few bumps in the road, several stomach growlings (not all from hunger) many trips to the bathrom and 7.3 lbs gone!!!! I know it's Water weight and big numbers come in the beginning but, i am still stoked. I'm also very concerned about Good Friday and Easter coming up. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE fried fish and we are going to a huge family dinner on Sunday? Any suggestions? I'll be moving to puree's at the end of the week. So enough about me. How has your 1st banded week gone and let me hear those numbers. Also, feel free to follow me on youtube under mrsa9206. thatgurl
  2. We are tracking the same. Only I have had a case a diahrrea all day. Yuck! My belly is slowly going down, but I have no complaints here. thatgurl
  3. Thanks for your response. That does make sense. I will slathering the desitin on until it clears up, I don't know why I didn't think of that. You're the best. thatgurl
  4. Hi folks, So, I was banded on the 12th of this month and am 5 days post op. Last night I had a fever into this afternoon. The fever has passed but I have had diahrrea all day. Is that common? I'm trying to take in more liquids to make up for the lost liquid. Should I take something for the diahrrea? I wanted to go to the store, but I can only get but so far from the bathroom and also, any recommendations for a sore booty? thatgurl

  7. i was banded on the 12th and i look like i'm 6 months pregnant. that has been my only issue. my pain is manageable without meds. i did take some tylenol this morning but nothing since then. thatgurl
  8. i was banded on the 12th also. my stomach is so swollen. i look like i'm 6 months pregnant. i can't wait for it to go down. i don't have any gas at all (thank the Lord) but my stomach is so bloated. i called the nurse about it and she said it was normal and will be a few days before it goes down. no regrets though and thankful i did this. thatgurl!

  12. I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!! April 12th is my date. Counting down the days and planning for the journey! Let's all stick together regarding updates. I can't wait to get on the other side. Here's something funny, alot of ladies on youtube name their band. I've been trying to think of a name for mine. What do you think?? Let's name our bands people.... thatgurl
  13. I just got my date today!!! April 12th! I can't believe it. It seemed so far away since starting last June. I am so excited!!!
  14. Hi there, I had similar questions. The research that I did was both on here and youtube. Also, check out the lap band site and the realize site. The only difference I saw was that the lap bands inner piece is sections and the realize is one continuous "balloon". I asked my surgeon and he said that he uses both, but has been doing more with the realize. I know that the realize patients i saw got fills more frequently. i decided to go with the realize band. hope that helps. That gurl!!
  15. i know, my daughter was looking at me like i was crazy. i am going on a mad hunt for some smaller plates and bowls. it's sad to say but nowadays a lot of the dinnerware is so large to accomodate the large portions we've become accustomed to. i'm going to check the thrift stores first. i don't think they will let me keep using their stuff. 2 year olds are so tempermental...lol!!!
