Puree's are YUCKY!!
Hey there, I am 18 days out and have moved from full liquids to purees or mushies. I CAN'T stand pureeing my food, texture is just gross. As a reults I am eating alot of soup, yogurt, jello and applesauce. Can anyone give me some ideas to change up what I am eating? Don't like cootage cheese (its a texture thing). Thanks for any advice you can give me.

1st fill feels funny
Did you find out what caused your band erosion?

at sweet spot-now WHAT CAN I EAT?
I don't know, being a NEWBIE and all, but it sounds like to me, your band might be too full. Everything I read says at your "sweet spot" you should be able to eat 2-4 ounces and feel full, but not so full that you vomit.

Missing your old foods?
It sounds like, too me, that you are not eating enough. I am 2 weeks out and only had 1/4 soup per meal for the first few days. Once the swelling subsided, I was able to increase my portion to 1/2 to 1 cup of soup. I was confused because everything we read says our pouch will only hold 2-4 ounces of food. When I talked to my nutritionist she explained that when I am in the "Green Zone" or my "Sweet Spot" I will only be able to consume 2-4 ounces per meal. In the mean time she says I will be able to hold more because of lack of restriction. I am now on mushies, still eating about 1 cup of food per meal and watching my scale move almost daily! I do drink ALOT ALOT ALOT of water! I use my Protein shake between Breakfast and Lunch (50 Grams of protein). Between Lunch and dinner I have 1/2 sugar free jello or sugar free popsicles or sugar free fudgesicle. When I feel hungar pangs coming on I drink water and it really seems to tide me over. This is not going to be easy, but I know it will work! Hang in there.

Why??
I was banded the day before you. The morning of my surgery, at home I weighed (naked) 225. This morning (naked) I weighed 216. A total of 9 lbs lost according to my home scale. Today at my post op Dr. appt, the Doc said he had my weight as 221 (clothed) the day of surgery and 217 (clothed) today. A total of 4 lbs. lost. So, I have been thinking I was doing great, but after what he told me today (which he says is good weight loss for just 10 days) I am feeling a little down..........especially because I am hungry.

Normal???
I am 10 days out. I was waking up in the morning the first 7 - 8 days with ALOT of back pain, but I am ok now.

Successful Surgery
I, too, felt just like you did after surgery. I am 10 days out and feel real good, just starting to get more hungry now. Saw Doc for the post op appt today, he says 1 more week of full liquids diet. I had 2cc put in a 10 cc band the day of surgery and go back to see him again 7/30 I am thinking for 2nd fill.

Protein Shake help !
I made the Major mistake of buying the 3lb Bottle of Isopure Cookies and Cream powder. $50.00 some odd dollars a piece. You mix 2 scoops with 12 ozs of water for 50 grams of protein. It's not ALL that bad tasting, but I am just sick of it. There are 22 servings in the 3 lb bottle. I have about half of the bottle left, So my advice is DON"T buy the HUGE bottles.

How many cc's before you reached your sweet spot?
I have only had my band 10 days. I have a 10cc Band which was filled 2cc the day of surgery. The first 4 days, while I was still swollen, were sweet because I had NO hunger. Now I am getting pretty hungry, but I am still on the liquids. Saw my Dr. today for the first time since surgery. He says 1 more week of liquids and come back and see him in three weeks. I see him again 7/30........sure hope I am getting another fill then!!

My Dr. say no Coffee post op initially. I JUST couldn't do it. I have followed everything else to a tee. I have up'd my water intake to compinsate for the diuretic issue and have limited myself to 1 small cup in the morning diluted.- Hey!
Hey Marrisa, I too was banded 6/29/10. I wasn't in as much pain as you were, but I did have major gas. It has subsided a bit now. I am empty still as well. Up until today, I really didn't feel hungry. I am still on full liquid, per Dr.s orders. I see him Friday 7/5/10 and so hope I will be advanced to mushies. Best of luck to you my fellow Bandster!- Labor Day Challenge

Hi there, I was just banded 6/29/10 and I am wondering how soon you all started exercisin after surgery. I am anxious to get started, but don't want to jump the gun. If any what should or can I be doing right now just a little under 1 week out?- Another Introduction ...
Welcome back......I too am new here, just banded 5 days ago. I know that this is going to be the best thing I have ever done for myself. This TOOL that has been given to me is exactly what I need to suceed. I wish you the best and look forward to following your journey!- Day One Need Help
I was banded Tuesday 6/29/10 at 3:00 pm. Was not allowed ANYTHING until my GI test was done the following morning Wednesday. They started me with ice chips. After about 2 hours I was then given clear broth, herbal tea and Crystal Lite. That stayed down fine. A little later that evening I had chicken broth and Sugar Free Popsicle. Thursday at home I had 1 Isopure Shake (50 grams) protein., 1 Carnation Instant Breakfast with 8 oz skim milk (14 grams) protein, 1 cup tomato soup made skim milk. I also had Sugar Free Jello. Same for Friday . I had 5.3 oz Greek Yogurt this morning. Kept it down fine. So far so good! Good luck to you!- OK, I'll stop lurking now...
That is COMPLETE AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work! - Any CA Bandsters out there?
