  1. Congratulations.....job well done!
  2. I have been banded for 4 days and am wondering how much protein is appropriate. My nutritionist said at least 60 grams a day. I am drinking Isopure Low Carb Protein which gives me 50 grams in 1 shake. I am getting the other 10 grams from skim milk. So far I have had only 1 protein shake a day.......am I getting enough? Feel fine and not hungry:huh2:
  3. Hi there, I was banded 6/29 at 3:00 pm. My Dr. said I could have my 1st shower 48 hours after surgery, which technically would have been yesterday at 3:00pm, however, I waited until this morning because I too posted questions about my first shower. I took off the big bandages when I showered, but left the steristrips on. I was told they will come off on there own. I showered with my back to the water so my incissions wouldn't get soaked. I also used antibacterial soap, Ahhhh...never felt better! Dried off very carefully. I have been drinking protein shakes, Carnation Instant breakfast (no sugar added) with skim milk, chicken broth, tomato soup (made with skim milk), sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, Crystal light and alot of water. Tomorrow I am going to try plain greek yogurt. In the next few days I will try Cream of Wheat. Also taking HBP meds by mouth (cut in half) and chewable vitamins and calcium. So far so GOOD. NO great hunger or pain. Finally had bowel movement today yay! Good Luck:thumbup:
  4. I was banded Tuesday 6/29/10 and I am VERY constipated. This is hrrible for me because I usually go 2 - 3 times a day. Trying to drink plenty of water, hopefully this will help.:tt1:
  5. Thank you for that bit of info:thumbup:
  6. My Dr. said it would be ok to shower 48 hours after surgery. Well 48 hours has passed and I am ready to shower. I just took a peek under the bandages and it looks like there are little strips of tape over the incissions. Do I remove those or leave them on?:tt1:
  7. I am drinking Isopure Zero Carb Protein, purchased at GNC. 50 Grams of protein per shake. I have only had one, since I have only been home less than 24 hours. It took me about 1 hour to get 12 oz down. Filled me up though the night. I bought Cookies and Cream, mix with water, tastes OK , but think I will try milk next time!
  8. Hi Barbie, I was banded June 29, 2010, the day after you. I feel great too! It has been alot easier than I thought, so far anyway. I have two weeks off of work thoug. I work in a grocery store and Dr. doesn't want me doing any lifting. I am feeling a little sore too, but SO happy I did this. Good Luck to you!
