Ok. so...  i guess here is my story that lead to my lap band decision.Basically in a nut shell I have been overweight my whole life. After having four kids.....my weight didnt go down.I am at my breaking point and i want change. I have lived 27years this way, and that is way too long. I was on Facebook one night and I was looking at my cousins page and noticed she had pics up from her summer down here visiting, I try to avoid ALLLLLL pictures so I was surprised I was in a pic. I could not belived that I looked that way. I sent the picture to one of my bestfriends and asked for her honesty. She was very nice and told me the truth. That yes, that was how I looked but that is ok as long as I was happy with me self. And there is nothing wrong with the way I look. She was very supportive. but, That night I started looking into surgery. I found Dr.David Kim in the dallas area. I was lucky, and he sees patients two saturdays a month. So, I was in hise office a week after seeing my picture. My first visit was may 15th. I weighed 300.02lbs. I choose lap band because I needed to come out of this alive. Gastric Bypass is probley the surgery I need but with a 1 in 100 mortality rate I couldnt do it. I never considered the sleeve. I told Dr.Kim " I need to come out of this Alive." We talked about out goals and were I want to be and where he wants me to be. We both agreed I need to be around 160-150ish. I dont want to be a size 4 or a 2. i want some curves still. LOL :) just not as much as I have now. So where am I now??June 6th I go and stay with some friends b/c I live 4 hrs from my doc. I will go June7th at 10am for my class and get my optimeals. I start my 3 week liquid diet OptiMeals sugar free drink, jello and teas. I will come home and then leave to go back to my friends house June 27th. June 28th I have my pre op visit at Dr.Kim's office and June 29th is my surgery. I have some idea what to expect after surgery. I know it is out patient, yeah! but, Eclipse comes out June 30th, Yes I am a Twiheart!!! I will be making the premier!!! I will go and sit my but in a chair and be in pain but, i am going. lol. After my surgery I will be on liquid diet for 3 more weeks. Then mushy foods... then regular foods. I have been watching alot of Youtube to see what other people have gone through. here are my concerns:Death, pain, gas, will something get stuck, how will I fell afterwords, Will I miss food, How will I handle social situations, will I always Think I am fat even if I am 150lbs, will I be one of them people who wear a size 10 and still think I am fat???????So, this is me Tori, 27year old mom of 4 wife to my wonderful hubby. I am scared of the surgery and I am scared not to have the surgery.
