  1. Well you definitely got the name right. A Sunny disposition you have! Thank you for the uplifting post. I appreciate it. As for the Special K Water, I had this in the beginning on the recommendation of someone from this board and it really does help.
  2. I'm here to make myself accountable. I've been struggling for a couple of weeks but just this past week I've actually gained 3lbs. I'm 4 1/2 months out and have lost 48lbs so I am very happy with that. However, I see a bad habit forming again and thought I would come here first to get accountable. I also stopped by the Kroger this morning on my way in to work to buy the Special K Protein Water to help me with the hunger. I'm going to try to do liquids for a couple of days to detox from the sugar. As for my fills. I've had 3. I have 7 cc's in my Realize band. I fill good restriction for about 2 weeks and then after that, not much. (I go back February 10th) Thanks for listening. Sandra
  3. I buy the grapefruit cups from Sam's. No white skin, only pink grapefruit.
  4. I need to nip this in the bud real quick. Here's my story. Surgery was Sept. 10th so I'm four months out. I've lost 48lbs since pre-op diet started. (August 25th) So I've done great so far. I had my third fill this past Tuesday. I am now at 7cc's in my Realize band. I think I felt more restriction with my 2nd fill and stayed full longer. Anyways, I find that I am eating a lot more than I need to. For example this morning I had an egg omelet for Breakfast. (consisted of 2 eggs, onion, b. pepper, and cheese) About an hour later I had 3/4 cup cottage cheese with some yogurt mixed in. For lunch(about 4 hours later) I had 3/4 cup tuna with mayo, peppers, and a few saltines. I had two fudgsicles in between lunch and supper. For supper I had 1 cup refried Beans with sour cream, cheese, salsa. Also, I had cottage cheese with Protein powder. Long story short to many calories and eating to much. It seems I can't get satisfied. I honestly don't think I need more of a fill, I think it's more mental and some physcial. I know my old past behaviors and my antenna has definitley come up so I thought I would reach out to the board. TIA Sandra
  5. Actually I was schedule to have the lap band but on the day of surgery my dr. decided to use the Realize band. He stated I didn't have much fat around the stomach and I would have a less chance of erosion with the realize band. My thoughts are that both bands are good or else drs. wouldn't take the risk of using something that would be considered less than.
  6. FAbulous!!!! Thanks for being an inspiration.
  7. I know this is band related and not sickness but just curious if others have had this feeling. It's not a bad feeling but I just feel a little nauseated and I feel like there is a slight "gnawing " sensation going on. Everythings been going great. Surgery was 2 months ago.
  8. I remember that awful pain. The thing that got rid of my pain was a huge ice pack that I purchased from a chiropractor for $12.00. My dr. told me that most people use a heating pad because it helps a little but the trick is ice. He said the heating pad only mask the problem the ice gets rid of the problem. I used it constantly and it did go away.
  9. I had my 2nd fill yesterday. I knew right up front that I was doing this before Thanksgiving and that I might not be able to eat but you know what??????????????? I've damned ate anything and everything for 44 years of my life and I can promise you I haven't ever missed a meal. Which is why I had surgery. (saying this in fun so don't misunderstand) As far as others finding out. I would follow drs orders first and then you can play with what food is on your plate and no,one will probably even notice. And maybe this is the time to stop worrying about what others think. All that matters is that you feel good. I would hate to make poor decisions based on others. You know what I mean? Happy Thanksgiving.
  10. The carb count and sugar count would just send me overboard!!!!!!!!!!! lol I was really excited too.
  11. You obviously have a fighting spirit so you can do this. Just a thought. Maybe return to post op eating. This would help to withdraw from the sweets and carbs. Lots of Protein shakes, Soup, etc. (mushie stage) I remember once when I was trying to withdraw from sugar I decided everytime I wanted to pig out I would take a hot bubble bath and read magazines or go shopping.(nothing like spending your whole night in the bathtub!!!! Water gets cold, drain, run more hot water, drain, run more hot water, you get the picture) You do what you have to do to get past it.
  12. Hi there, I was a huge sweet binge eater. My cravings went away after surgery and stayed away for a little over two months. THEN------------------ they came back with a rengence. I really had to fight hard. I ended up having a brownie and several Cookies during the struggle. I'm sure some of it was attributed to that time of the month but that can't be my excuse. I went for my 2nd fill yesterday and told the dr. about my struggle with the sweets. She summed it up very simple for me. "Remember why you had this surgery Sandra. You can't afford to have a little of this, a little bite of that, it always leads you back to the addiction and carbs." Enough said. I know I'm not like other people who can have a small portion, etc. etc. What helps me? Carnation instant Breakfast warmed up in microwave and fudgesicles. I have to remind myself to NOT STIR UP THE DEMONS!!!!! Best wishes. Sandra
  13. I am two months out and I have done great up until several weeks ago. All cravings went away and I felt a huge burden lifted. However, now that things are going back to normal and I have no restriction, I feel like I'm back sliding a little. To be honest I have lost most of my weight of straight willpower. I had my first fill about three weeks ago and that did nothing. I go for my 2nd fill in a couple of weeks. Anyways, did you catch yourself "just having one small brownie"? And if so, did good restriction finally get you back on target? I really want to catch this before it spirals out of control. TIA
  14. I just want to add that you have two more people in the same boat as you. My dear friend who I met on this board and I are going through the same thing. I just called her tonight. My surgery was 9-10 and I started pre-op on August 25th. I've lost 36lbs since the 25th but in the past several weeks I find myself wanting to eat more, checking out the kitchen more than I need to, etc. etc. I had my first fill two weeks ago and nothing. So we hang in there until we get the proper restriction. It will happen. I believe that. Sandra
  15. I had my first fill Oct 29th. I had 4cc put in which I thought was a lot for the first time. (my surgery was Sept 10th) My first fill wasn't to great. A PA did it and he couldn't find the port. Let's just say he won't be doing it next time. My port area hasn't felt the same since. I hope he didn't do any damage. As for restriction. I don't really have any. Honestly, I've really been doing it myself since surgery. I've lost 36lbs since pre-op. I hope within the next 2-3 times I will get restriction. Sandra

  17. Binge eater but no more since August 25th. It's a miracle!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I don't know- I'm not going to be fat anymore to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I was told I could eat regular as soon as I left.
  20. I had my first fill yesterday and they told me I could get regular from that point on. I guess it varies with each dr.
  21. I've noticed since surgery that I basically just eat to survive. I don't focus a whole lot whether I will salivate on the food anymore. lol I was a big binge eater and now I feel so free from the obsession with food. I feel like if I start eating because of enjoyment I will go back to the old behavior. I guess I'm just giving myself permission to feel this way. Anyone else? TIA
  22. If you find the chewable iron, please let me know. I'm having to crush mine and put on a teaspoon with yogurt. Pretty bad tasting honestly but I put up with it.
  23. When you had the operation, did they have to cut you like regular surgeries or did they do it laparosscopically? Just curious.
  24. If she knows what she is doing yes. But if not, no way. I'm not one to vote for a woman just because I am a woman.
  25. I like your question. Are WE ready for a black president? Honestly, I'm just ready for a change regardless of what the color of the skin is. I think racism exist. It exist with both blacks and whites. (and of course with any other ethnic group) One thing that concerns me is- at work I have a really good friend who is a black male. He and I can discuss open and honest issues with blacks and whites. Last week we both got our feathers ruffled. (lol) He told me that he believes that Obama will get enough black votes and will win this election. I came back and said you don't seriously think that the only people who are voting for him and will get him elected into the White House is black do you? He then said, "well I'm telling you that "we" will get him elected. I told him he needs to go back and look at the Convention and look at all the people in the background and get back with me. :smile2: I'm for any American who is true to this country. Period.
