Thanks, I decided to get some and strained it (gave the egg to my dogs, they were happy). I only had a teeny bit though. I'm still trying to get my second Protein Drink down. I just wanted something different.

If my stats are anywhere like yours I would be ecstatic! We did not gain this weight overnight, so unfortunately as much as we would love to just lose it overnight, it is not going to happen

Jess55 got a reaction from Limocurly in band to sleeve
Well I probably won't be a ton of help. But I revised from the band to sleeve on Monday. So far I think the pain has been pretty comparable. With the band I took pain meds the first 2 days and just once on day 3 mostly due to TOM. This time I was in the hospital for 2 days post op. I think the last time I asked for pain meds is early Tuesday morning. I did have a lot of nausea post op with the sleeve. I was only supposed to stay one night, but I could barely drink anything without feeling very nauseas. I did not have nausea after the band. And I did vomit a few times in post op recovery too.
I t is definitely harder to get fluids down . I currently feel like I constantly have something stuck in the back of my throat. I've been doing better drinking at home than I was doing in the hospital.
My surgeon did not send me home with any pain meds (which I was surprised at, but didn't really need). And told me if I'm in pain to take Motrin or Tylenol. I do have a little of pain getting up and down, especially in and out of bed, but it's self limiting, so I wouldn't have taken meds for that anyways

I had surgery yesterday too. Immediately waking up I started vomitting and dry heaving. I was hoping to go home today but I keep getting nauseous after drinking so they're keeping me another night. I'm hoping it subsides by tomorrow

I'm on the 6th too. Revising from the band. I had multiple last meals . I sadly gained weight from my last visit. But I'm on day 4 of my 7 day liquid diet. I've been wanting to revise for two years. I've unfortunately gained back all my weight plus a little due to band failure. I hope things go very well for all.
Now that it's 4 days away I'm starting to get a little nervous. I'm hoping I have an easy recovery. Honestly I'm not worried to much about the pain, although last time day 1 sucked, but I was off pain meds by day 3. I'm worried about having trouble getting all me fluids in. I currently drink a lot of wyler's light (similar to crystal light).

Well good news for me. I asked the nurse at my pre op appointment and she said you are allowed to wear regular clothes post op. So I'm happy about this. So I'll be sure to pack something comfortable to wear around underwear the hospital

I wish I was that lucky. I went for pre op testing and my place too wanted money up front part of it at least. I have a $3500 max out of pocket. I was hoping it wouldn't be the whole thing. Minus the $350 I've spent at my physical therapist so far it was the rest of it [emoji20]. Well I had already planned using part of my tax refund for it. But this sucks. I'm still going to have to pay it off because I still have to pay for some of the pre op stuff I had done prior to January [emoji20]

I don't have a goal weight gift. But when I get under 200. I'm going to buy myself a deathly hallows necklace. It's not big or expensive but it's something I've wanted for a while and wouldn't let myself get until I lost weight. Hopefully in 3-4 months. Surgery March 6th!

I'm getting sleeved on the 6th as well!

As for telling people, I'm not. I possibly might tell my friend later on, but coworkers and such no. I'm a private person. It is my business and no one else's. Although people might start to wonder at work. Especially since a coworker had bariatric surgery yesterday and she was open about it. I feel both of us losing weight at the same time may look suspicious

I'm so happy! I got a call for approval for my band to sleeve revision. I couldn't be happier! Surgery is March 6th.
Now comes the part I really don't want to deal with, my parents. I have not told them I was trying to get the sleeve for the last 6 months. I had found out a couple years ago that my mom had told other relatives that I had the band when I had asked her not to. I don't want her telling people again.
    But otherwise I can't wait!

I can understand in the sense of someone not being able to keep a secret. I am hopefully revising to the sleeve from the band. I few years after I got the band I found out my mom told my grandparents, her sister in law, etc that I had surgery. I was so mad as I am a private person and didn't want anyone to know. I unfortunately have to tell my parents, as I need their help to and from the hospital and taking my dogs for the night. But I really don't want to, I do not want them to tell people again. Which is why I'm waiting until I get approved (hopefully), but I'm going to reiterate that this is my business and no one else's

Jess55 got a reaction from sweesee in Sleeve or lap band
I am hopefully revising to the band in the next month (last visit on Friday, then praying I get approval). I've had the band since 2010. I did well in the beginning with no fill. Then I stopped losing and tried getting fills, I started losing again but only because I really couldn't eat anything until late afternoon, even then i would still vomit things up at dinner. I never was able to find my sweet spot. I had my fill removed and by the time I got courage to go back to my surgeon I am the same weight as where I started .
I did not originally want the sleeve or bypass because of the risks, but I know I need it now, so I'm willing to risk it. My coworker has the band and she lost weight and was even under weight, but I think she keeps hers tight as I see her eating soft foods at work a lot of the time (I could be wrong). But now she's gained some weight back too and seems to be struggling to lose it again.
It's all up to you, but from my experience I would not recommend the band to anyone.

Jess55 got a reaction from KaylaWls1216 in Is there a such thing of a half bypass?
I've heard when some ones weight is over a certain point, it may not be safe to do bypass completely, so they do a sleeve (or maybe just make their stomach smaller). Then after they've lost a bit and it's safer they do the bypass part, where they bypass part of the intestines. Maybe that's what they meant

I love kickboxing! I used to go all the time. I miss it so much, I had to freeze my membership to my kickboxing gym at the beginning of November because I hurt my ankle and right now I can barely walk, let alone do kickboxing. As soon as my feet/ankle recovers I'll be going back. I started 3 months after I got my band and lost a good amount of weight before my band started failing. So yes it's a great workout

AvaFern, you do? Do you know why? Is there a cause? That sucks.
When I vomit with the band it feels like it's stuck and then most times I just bring it back up. It usually happens within the first few bites, but then after I can eat anything.
So really I vomit but feel like after I have no restriction. So what is the band doing to help me? Nothing. I thought I'd done enough research prior to the band, but apparently not, now I read so much about long term or even short term complications. Slippage, erosion, scarring, ulcers. I don't want to have to worry about that forever so I really wanted it gone. I thought maybe for once I'd be able to be happy in life. I'd lose weight and be happy. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed though and maybe the office will appeal it.
As for the lawyer, I doubt I'd be able to afford one.

Jess55 got a reaction from jacks89 in PCP clearance?
I hear that, I've been trying to get a letter from my pcp stating I'm a good candidate or something for surgery. I went there in April and I was hoping she'd just write the letter for me, nope, she's making me come in again. I think it's because she tried to push diet pills on me last time. Now I couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks. I'm so annoyed with her. Given that I always wait like an hour to see her, one time I couldn't get an appointment due to back to school visits (I go to a family practice) and now this. Once I get clearance for surgery I'm going to find a new pcp
