  1. Have you thought about an unfill?? I had to have a bit taken out a couple months ago because I wasn't losing anything and everything was getting stuck. You might actually see more of a weightloss if you can eat MORE. Your body needs the fuel or it goes into starvation mode. I find I lose more weight if I eat a few more (healthy) calories.

But I am still frustrated with food sticking sometimes. It's weird... PLEASE--stay in touch!! Add me!

  2. Sorry to here about all the stress you are under! You look great in the picture! Just curious how much is in your band now? How much is your total loss?

I have been stuck at the same weight since December and it stinks! I have not been working out. I guess I have to ad that to the mix ASAP. Wishing you the best!

I'm not sure how much is in there, to be honest. When I go to the doc on Wednesday, I might have a little taken out. from October to November, I lost NINE pounds. So I think I did better with less fluid in the band. Since being banded in June (excluding the pre-op diet) I have lost just shy of 40 pounds. I'm a slow loser. :( But at least I have lost this much! My goal is to lose 20 more pounds by my birthday. (May 26) I hope I can do it!

  3. That is terrible and I am in tears for you that your own father would say such a thing--I can't even imagine how hurt you were by that. I just want to give you a huge hug right now.

As much as it said to stay positive, I know that it can be very difficult.

The only thing I can say is that at least you recognize your weight was/is a problem and have taken a HUGE step in the right direction to change that. The LapBand will work for you in time. And 18 pounds is not too shabby a start, no matter if you can't "see" the results quite yet. You will.

You are a beautiful, strong woman and I believe a year from now you're going to look back and this will be a distant memory.

  4. You can take a laxative. I suggest MiraLAX. And I would take it SOOOOON if I were you! Otherwise it's going to hurt REALLY bad when you do go. Get the MiraLAX powder and mix it with juice. Can't take the difference at all. :) It works really well! I did it 2 days post op and have been regular ever since.

  5. Go to lapband.com and I think you can register for one under My Lapband Journey. It has your surgeon's name and number, type of band used, surgery date, max fill volume and has a diagram of where the band is placed. It says it is MRI compatible and has some drug warnings on it for ulcerogenic meds. At the bottom of the card it has a note to restaurants. "Please allow this person to order smaller portions, as the amount of food this person can eat has been greatly reduced."

  6. Yuck, no baby food for me! Except for the bananas and Hawaiian Delight which is also fruity. Those are the only 2 I can stand. But there are SO many other option for mushie food. Cottage cheese, oatmeal, tuna, mashed potatoes, eggs, and applesauce just to name a few. It's amazing how one can make a food "mushy." :)

  7. Just you wait, the pounds will drop off quickly in the next week or two for you! I'm so happy for you! Try some Greek yogurt with honey! It's VERY filling (though sounds like you're not too hungry right now, but you will be soon!) and it is PACKED with protein! Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well! Blessings!

  8. I am so glad to hear from you and that you are doing well!! Congrats! Today is typically the most difficult day, so if you can get thru today ok, you'll be grand! :) Keep us updated and let us know what's going on or if you have any questions about anything. Blessings!!
