Weight loss is great for the jeans
I have been telling myself it is okay to keep lowering my goal since I thought 145 was impossible a first but I hit it so I changed it to 140, then 135, and now 130 but since I'm almost 130 I want to change it to 125. Just 5 more lbs. Here is my main worry when I was over 200 lbs I knew I must be big but honestly I was in so much denial that I didn't see myself as big BUT now that I'm thin I see myself as big. I see the area I want to work on and could be better. Maybe it is just hoping knowing I can get the body I've always wanted but some where I have to find peace in myself. At some point there has to be happiness. Maybe I've just gone crazy lol

Trying for sleeve, might get band, need advice
My sister has the Sleeve and all the things she talked about being the down fall to WLS I do not deal with. She cant eat and drink at the same time, I can. She cant always tell when she is full and gets sick, I can tell. She has to do after care to fill her band, I dont. Over all those that get the lap-band still deal with weight issues and have problems with gaining back the weight. From what I have heard from others and what I see in myself is I dont even think I could gain back the weight if I wanted to. The sleeve is the best thing I ever did for myself.

Some advice for Mexico
Here is a letter I just wrote someone and I thought it might be helpful to others: I am an open book for you and any questions you have. I was lucky with the money side of it since I charged it to a credit card that was interest free for a year and now I have been working on paying it off. So I can’t give you any advice in that area. As for a SCAM I had the same worries but everything turned out fine. I even missed my flight that morning and just called where they told me to call and it was no problem at all. The guy was there to pick me up just like he said he would be. We had to stop at the Mexican line and explain why we were going to Mexico. I didn't know I would have to explain in detail so just be ready to say what hospital and what Doctor you are going to see. They will ask how to plan to pay since they don’t like the idea of you taking large amounts of money with you. Since I had a money order there were no issues. Once I got into Mexico I did have some fear since as we all know Mexico is nothing like the USA. They had just had some flooding so it was pretty dirty looking. BUT the hospital was amazing. I have worked in a couple hospitals and this hospital was more like a resort. It was SO BEAUTIFUL!! It was clean, nice, and everyone was so nice to me. There was a few times at night when someone didn't speak English but I just used my paper they gave me and pointed at what I want. There were no problems at all. On the pain side of the things your pain will come from gas more than anything. You won’t feel like walking but do it anyways. The more you walk the better you will feel. Gas-X is your best friend!! I used them as a pain pill. I was wake up and almost be puking gas so I would use one and it helped a ton. Also a heating pad is amazing too! My heating pad helped a ton when it came to sleeping. But again the main thing is to get off your butt and walk! If you don’t, the pain will be much worse than it has to be. On the flight home it will be a little hard since you will be weak but not impossible. When you get to your flight ask to board first. You don’t want anyone rushing or pushing you. Make sure to take a pain pill before you get on your flight and bring Gas-X too. If you have the time in between your flights then walk since it will help with pain BUT if you are short on time don’t try to rush. Ask someone to drive you. I just explain that I had just had surgery and everyone was very kind to me. My sister was with me when I was in Mexico but honestly you should be fine on your own. It was nice to have her since she would wake me up every few hours to make me walk but as long as you are able to make yourself do that on your own you should be fine. Make sure to only pack one bag (you won’t even need that much anyways) that has wheels. I promise you won’t feel like carrying anything. On after care I haven't had any yet since I don’t have insurance but I plan to get my yearly done next month. I did have an issue where I didn't know we can’t eat fresh vegetables and was very constipated; to the point that I had a temp and was in a ton of pain. The good thing was they got a hold of my Dr. in Mexico and he let me know what was going on and how to deal with it. So your Dr. in Mexico is on hand if you need him for any reason. I hope that helped... If there is anything else I could help you with please let me know.

Weight loss is great for the jeans
Sorry it has been so long. I’m really working hard at getting out of the house more and socializing more so in return I haven't been getting online as much. BUT I really miss you guys. I need to get on here more so I have people to talk to that understand me better. My WLS is still a secret to most people and even if people know about the WLS they don’t really understand. SO as of this week I have go from a size 20 high to a size 5/6!! The last time I got this butt into a size 6 I was 14 years old! GET THIS THOUGH I can get a size 4 on, it just looks tight BUT I haven't got a size 4 over my thighs since I was 12!! I AM SO PUMPED!! On the weight side of things I’m have gone from around 210 high to now I am an amazing 132!! I didn't even know I could get in the 130's and now I’m starting to get close to the 120’s. Okay but side note.. Anyone that has hit their goal weight having some head issues with gaining the weight back. I have a Super Sleeve (pretty much the same as a VSG they just don’t take out the extra part of my stomach instead they fold it over) so of course we eat next to nothing but now I have it in my head that I’m starting to eat too much. I’m a little scared that I’m going to go from over eating disorder to under eating disorder. It started a few days before Christmas when I got sick and couldn’t eat for a few days. Now I have a bit of a fear of food. Maybe I’m just being silly. It is my time of the month and I tend to worry more and gain a bit of weight. Advise??

July Surgeries
Has anyone found themselves having issues with depression? For the last two weeks I have been feeling down and angry. I was losing weight like crazy but I'm the same weight I was three weeks ago now. I don't eat breads or pasta and I pretty much stay clear of sweets. What is wrong with me!! I feel so mad at myself. I am trying to look at the whole picture since I lost so much so fast at first but honestly you would think the low carb diet would help me lose weight let alone having wls too!

Has anyone gotten the ?Super Sleevectomy? (TGVP) with Dr. Jose Rodriguez?
When you have the vsg or super sleeve you can eat and drink at the same time which in return makes food go down easier. If I sit down and have a meal then my limits come into play very well but just like with any wls if you snack and give the food time to go down then you can eat more. I don't eat carbs so it helps to get more of the foods I want to eat. If you have any issues with an over eating disorder it doesn't just go away when you can't eat as much in a sitting. Make sure you deal with your issues with food and don't just hope they will go away.

Super Sleeve (Gastric Plication)
I am very happy with my choice to have the super sleeve but from what I understand if you have around 100 or more lbs to lose you should go with the vsg. I'm no dr so i would just talk to your dr about the pros and cons. My largest size is 20, my pro-op size was 14-16, and as of today I'm 8-10. I haven't lost much weight this month but I lost a few inches so that is good.

Take the time to get to know me
I'm doing very well. The first month I lost an average of a lb a day and the second month I'm losing an average of 1/2 a lb a day. I'm really happy with my new stomack. I don't eat bread though.

Super Sleeve or gastric plication

Super Sleeve or gastric plication
When I feel hungry between meals it almost always is really that I'm thirty. Once I drink something I'm fine. If drinking something doesn't do the trick I eat a snack and I'm good. I don't get too down on myself since my four or five small meals a day are still less than half of what I use to eat with my three big meals a day (and I still snacked then).

Super Sleeve or gastric plication
Amy, Sorry it has taken me so long. I never got an email when you posted. And even worse my computer is down right now since my charger broke. As soon as I get the new charger I will write you. It is hard to give all the detail I would like to give you while writing on my iPhone. Fit, I don't eat carb based things like bread and Pasta. I have an ap on my iPhone that I keep record of food in take but I haven't been very good at always keeping up with it. Since I don't eat bread it makes it easier to eat more protien but I'm still having some issues getting all my needed protien in. One thing I did learn the hard way is do not eat fresh carrots. I guess some how I missed that memo and let me tell you I was in a ton of pain for over 24 hours!! I think it will be that way with any fresh vegs so make sure they are soft.

Post Op Day 2, but the GAS? Help
everyone is different but the more you get up and walk the faster the gas goes away. It will take about 1-2 weeks but the second week is not as painful as the first.

July Surgeries
So my first month I was losing almost a lb a day and I only lost 1.5 lbs this whole week! I'm a little down but I'm blaming my time of the month and hoping this coming week will be better!

Nervous about Mexico Surgery!!
I went to Dr Rod and he was wonderful! They gave me a diet plan when I left and when I ran into some issues with eating some I shouldn't have Dr Rod was very helpful with his advice on how to handle the issue. If I had to do it over again I would still go to Mexico.

Trying to decide between Banding or Sleeve
My sister has the lap band and I have the sleeve. I have a lot more freedom than she does when it comes to food and drinks. I know this sounds like a small reason but what changed my mind from sleeve to band was the fact that I can eat and drink at the same time. If you have lap band you will never be able to eat and drink at the same time. Plus sleeves have an over all better out come than bands. Tiff is the best to talk to though about band vs sleeve

Body Pillow question
I sleep on my side also. The first night I didn't even try it so I couldn't tell you there BUT the second night I was able to. If I layed down and tried to turn on my side I wasn't able but if I sat on the bed and laid on my side then lifted my legs (had a bit of help somethings) then I was able to lay on my side. What is weird though is I have never slept on my stomach but the last few weeks I have been waking up on my stomach so I guess my body has changed it's mind on how I should sleep lol

I ate too fast! OUCH!

Month post op and in unbearable pain
It has been almost 48 hours since I ate the carrots and some time today the pain went away. I am very lucky that I was able to work it though my body. I tried to get into a dr here in GA but no one could take me same day. I have no insurance so the ER was not a choice for me. My dr was very wonderful and as helpful as he could be but also told me to get checked out. I am going to see someone tomorrow just a day or two late. Please learn from me WE CAN NOT EAT FRESH VEGS!! I don't think Ill even try them again in 5 months. I honestly think this whole event has made me not like carrots at all, not even soft ones.

One Month in Heaven!
I use the ap "lose it" since it is so easy to look things up. Also it let's you put in things you cook at home. Also it let's you track your weight and set goals. There are other aps but that is my fav free ap.
