Just had my first fill, a little bummed....
My Dr has been amazing. she is a little aggresive when it comes to fills. But she explained it like this....."you are in training for when you do have restriction". make sure you eat slow and chew till you puree the food in your mouth. She also said to me that if after 2 weeks of my fill, and I am having difficulty with hunger, to come back and do anouther fill. At 8 weeks post op, I had 3 fills @ 8cc total. It's great, but honestly wish I had more "training"! I have had a few PB's. Take your time and train! Dont worry if you need an extra snack to hold you over. Dont put too much pressure on yourself. Our Drs kno what they are doing and have the experience. Keep up the good work.

Can you feel the food pass through ??
I feel gurgling Etc. But I dont think I really feel the food. If you do, you may not be chewing enough.

Meal guidance sought from those non-newbies
I start myday with either 2 scrambled eggs with cheese in or a Protein shake and 4 oz of Fiber one Cereal with raisins I add to it. for lunch I have variety of things like tuna or chicken salad with lowfat mayo, and i add lots of dried cranberries or raisins. sometimes I have a chick pea salad with diced tomatoes, red onion and artichoke hearts, and black olives, and low fat italian dressing. Other times I may have sushi made with brown rice. dinner I have what ever I cook for the family. Grilled chicken, pork tenderloin, beef(lean) and a veggie of some sort. Most importantly, keep it lean, healthy fats only, low carb high in protiens. I dont deny myself most things if I really want it. but I then be very careful, and excercise more to offset the food I ate.

Mashed Potatoes and Eggs?
Scrambled is fine but dont over cook them. I also pureed my own fruits and added them to low fat yogourts. Light flakey fish are no problem. I went to a resturant and had fish with sauce on the side. Just be sensible. Look in the Food and nutrician sub forum hear and you will find a thread on foods/recipes people have tried for the diferrent stages. It helped me a lot.

8 1/2 weeks post-op and disgusted.....
I find it interesting that my Dr is aggresive with fills. 3rd fill since suregery on may 25th was four days ago. I have 8ccs in a 15cc band. I now have restriction. I appreciated the fills and really did not experience bandster hell.
-
Discouraged...
Sounds like you need a fill. My Dr is a little aggresive with fills. I have had 3 since my surgery, may 25th, 8ccs total and I am feeling restriction now. After my second I was more like you, as the day went on I could eat more, unless I didnt chew well or ate too fast. My dr told me if I am still getting hungry after 2 weeks, come back for a fill. Your dr may be ok with a fill ahead of "schedule".

swelling after fill
I definetly have restriction. I now know why I have been practicing chewing and eating slow. It has been a tough weekend for eating. I am feeling better than I did the other day. According to my home scale, I lost 3.5 more lbs over the weekend. This might be "Lap Band Heaven"!
-
Please tell me this is not normal!!!
As far as your return to work and pain, you will be fine. The biggest problem is the fatigue.

Please Help.
I used to be covered by my wifes ins thru her employer. the employer had the exclusion put into their plan. the ins comp said the only way is to have the employer waive the exclusion and pay the difference in premium. Her employer refused. I ended up going out and getting my own policy and plan to return to hers next year.

Question""""
Coco hit the nail on the head! I think you reall need more time. I have read here that some have done that, and felt terrible. You should take some time to heal. It is so important. Good luck!

Please help !!!!!
Overall I eat pretty healthy. But if I want something, I have it, IN MODERATION! I have not binged at all. I feel, if you deny yourself those things, you wont be happy, and you will lose control. This may not work for everyone, but it works for me. 26lbs since surgery in 2 months.

swelling after fill
I had my 3rd fill yesterday. 8 cc total in a 15cc band. I am pretty restricted, but I am able to have liquids, but I can feel them going slower than before. I am sure that I have some swelling. But, how long does it last after a fill? My first two fills did not restrict me at all. Nor did I notice any swelling.

What the HELL
Glad to hear it! Keep up the good work!
