  1. I'm not getting lipo, my ps said that the fat up there is inner fat and he won't be able to lipo it. But then he said if he does need to lipo its not a big deal, he said its just a matter of rolling the machine into the room. My plastic surgeon hasnt' done a band patient yet either. I was VERY concerned about it and he said he would be calling my band dr to discuss things with him. My band dr said the port isn't going to be a problem as long as he just leaves it alone, he said its attached snuggly to the muscle wall and unless he would cut some stitches he's not going to bother it. My band dr also doesnt' think I need my port revised. He said the revised port is actually only about 1/4 inch different anyway.
  2. Julie - I'm not from Wisc. but I was born and raised in Grand Rapids Minnesota. I left there after I got married and we settled in PA but we go up to Minn alot and Wisc is our LONG state, we go right up through the middle. My cousin had her band done in Duluth. I dont' think she has done real well bc she hasn't kept up on the fills. VERY important to get those adjustments! good luck and welcome to the forties!
  3. Whats up girlfriends? Busy weekend? I didnt' do a whole lot, dh had to work out of town and night shift Saturday so he left around noon and didnt' get home until the next morning. He slept until noon, and was back to bed at 6 - he's too old for this stuff. I went to the movie, the Other Boylen Girl, Scarlett J and Natalie P - it was good but I had read the book so it wasnt' nearly as good as the book. THats the extent of my wild life. I'm getting a little freaked about my tt. Not about the surgery but about the timing. I wake up at night thinking of all the things that I need to take care of (most of it work related). I don't know if I told you all this since I've been hanging around the Plastics thread, but my youngest daughter who is a senior in high school has her prom on the Saturday after my surgery, which is on Thursday. :smile2: I don't even know if I'll be out of the hospital, dr said to plan on being in 3 days. So she has to go get her hair done alone, and then my daughter in law is coming over when she gets off work to help her get in her dress. It just sucks! I told her if I'm still in the hospital they need to come up to see me. Then the next day, Sunday, she has her athletic banquet. Of course they honor all the seniors. Hopefully I'll be out by then and can be there for her. A week after I have the surgery she has senior night at track, thats when the parents walk out on the field with the seniors and do the little kiss and a flower thing. UGH! I just feel so out of control over this stuff. I know I'm probably making it into more then it is, but thats me, stress over my kids. The good news is that my oldest daughter, is very happy and seeing a new guy. So thats a load off my mind, after her break up with the other one she was so depressed and I was worried about her. Oh the joys of motherhood. Ok so again on the bright side - I am still totally excited about being a gramma!
  4. The before pics always make me shudder but I'm glad I have them to compare myself to. Sometimes when I'm feeling like I'm not a good loser I pull one up and say oh yeah you are! LJM - you look sooooooo good and just so happy in all your pics, do you think its from the mons lift?:smile2:
  5. Looking good Neal - looks like you're healing fast. I see its been 2 months now, do you feel back to normal? I mean as far as stretching and exercising, stuff like that?
  6. I started taking a C and other then that I've been taking my normal ones. I take childrens chewables, one with iron (gross) and 2 gummies, and then I take my calcium chewy candies (yummy) - I figured it wouldnt' hurt to take a vit.C - my dh swears by his C, so he was all for me taking them. I'll call on Monday to see if they want me to do anything different. You'd think they would've told me by now since I have all the pre-op test papers and I won't be going back to see him now, just the day of surgery. I haven't lost anymore weight ... I guess I must not be working at it hard enough. In church today one of my friends said "you look so good" I said thanks and she said "you look so healthy, some people just lose too much and don't look good, but you look so good" - that was so nice to hear. I really think I'm ok with where I am with my wieght and size. Like I told dh, I know I'm not thin, but I also know I'm not fat anymore and I actually feel like I look good. I feel kinda bad that I'm not getting the last 10 lbs off that I wanted to before tt but I really feel good and healthy. I'm still feeling bummed that I might not make it to my dd's senior athletic banquet, just stinks! I'm just going to pray for a speedy recovery. Just enough to get me into a nice pair of slacks and sit me in a corner.
  7. Your in my prayers Fran - and now you got me scared! :smile2:
  8. Looking good Neal and wtg on the mediums! Isnt' it wonderful! I still am shocked when I try on a medium and it fits.
  9. Findingme - How exciting for you! I hope your insurance will cover it. I can't believe how far you all have to go to get a fill or unfill. My band dr is about 20 minutes away. But still it was him who wants me unfilled, he said he doesn't want to risk throwing up from the anethesia. I kinda thought it was best too since I've heard how everyone gets so tight after surgery. I'm just so fortunate that I could schedule my unfill for the day before surgery and my refill a week after.
  10. DH does have to go out of town for work. It might just be a couple weeks but it could be longer. I know he'll take my surgery day off and then the next day he has a mandatory class. I'm ok with that, I most likely will just want to nap all day anyway.
  11. No he didnt' say anything about extra vitamins. But I do have some C tablets here. Do you think I should start taking them? How about your daily vitamins, did you double up on them or anything? I dont' like the iron chewables but I've been taking them just bc I figured it'd help build my blood.
  12. I found out last night that my daughters athletic banquet is on May 4th. It wouldnt' be such a big deal to miss it except that she's a SENIOR!!! Dang it anyway! I dont' even know if I'll be out of the hospital by then. I plan on going and figure if I'm not feeling up to it I'll just have dh and dd get my food and stuff. Hopefully I'll be out of the hospital by then. The surgeon said plan on 3 days in the hospital. I'll just have to get better fast.
  13. I am VERY excited about the tt! I can't wait. I have my ticker counting down the days and every morning I want to post just to see it go down. I do have to have pre-op tests but nothing like the band and I dont' think they'll ask me to have some of the things like chest xray and stuff since I just had them less then 2 years ago. They said since I'm not a smoker and I'm in good health everything should be easy. I have all my pre-op testing on the 23rd. I just found out last night my daughter has her athletic banquet on the 4th - I dont' even know if I'll be out of the hospital (dr said to plan on 3 days). So many things going on this time of the year!
  14. :biggrin2:Yep - 20 days! I'm so flipping excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're just 5 days behind me! WOOfreakingHOO! A tummy tuck is something I could only imagine in my wildest dreams. When my sister had hers done I was so jealous but knew it was something that I'd never be able to afford - at this stage of my life anyway - so when insurance said they would pay for it I was thrilled. Now its getting closer it just feels so surreal, like someone is going to call me and say oops we made a mistake. Pinch me please! Faith - hon so sorry your fill didnt' go well. I had one fill that I went in for and we ended up going down to xray for fluro. The last one I had the needle was bent at an angle.
  15. LJM - you look soooooooo good! Beautiful!!!
  16. I can't wait to see the pic! You know its so crazy shopping now. Do you find yourself looking at the plus size clothes? I will catch myself and then go wait a minute, move to the ladies and still I've bought two tops in a large that I should have had a medium in, but bc they were t-shirts I didnt' think I needed to bother trying them on. A pleasant waste of money. I need work clothes bc nothing from last season fits but I'm still holding off until after my tt, JUST incase I go down a size!
  17. Bman I'm so happy for you. Enjoy falling in love. My dd who just broke up with her boyfriend (almost fiance) has started seeing a new guy and thats what I told her. Just enjoy the time you have together, let all the other stuff work itself out. One of the good things about having had a loser bf, is that now you know what to look out for.
  18. Oh Cheryl so sorry you can't get in until May! My band dr has a fairly small practice so its not too hard getting a fill when you want one. I can usually get in within a day or 2. But just to be on the safe side I figured it was better to schedule a month ahead. I work at a country club with a great chef, with the kitchen just outside of my office with those wonderful smells enticing me all day, without a fill I'd be a gonner. Even with the fill I still struggle with the temptations.
  19. I feel the same way. Last night while walking with my niece I was telling her that it all seems so surreal. I remember years ago when my sister had her tt, I was so envious - but yet I knew it was something that I'd never be able to have done, definitely not something I would spend money on at this point in my life, but here I am with insurance paying for it. I feel so blessed! I still feel like I'm going to wake up and it'll all be a dream.
  20. wow you look wonderful! I'm so excited!!!! woohoo! Thanks for posting the pics its so encouraging!!
  21. no, you're not the only one - count me in. Which is why I NEEDED the band and which is why I already scheduled my re-fill!
  22. Isn't that the best thing about marriage? I also love my dh more now then when we first got married. I try to tell young couples that if you just get through the tough years it really does get better.
  23. Julie I scheduled my unfill for the day before my tt - my band dr wants me completely unfilled for surgery - I was getting scared that I'd start to gain and I've really been working to lose 10 lbs prior to tt so I didnt' want it all to be in vain. My only advice it start using fitday.com or thedailyplate to track your calorie intake. Make healthy choices and try to pysch yourself out by telling yourself you aren't allowed to gain anything before surgery. I also scheduled my re-fill for one week post op. We figure we'd play it by ear and if I happen to be too tight at that time to get refilled then we'll wait a week. I sympathize with you, I actually told my dd today that for supper the night I get unfilled I'm going to have a cheeseburger and fries. How crazy is that. OH and I said, I'm going to guzzle a whole bottle of water. LOL thats my crazy FAT mind working. Yep the best thing for me is not to get my unfill until 3:15 the afternoon before my surgery.
  24. LJM - you stayed home that first week right? So you had the weekend and then a whole week to rest? As I read everyones ps adventures I have taken notice that those who had lipo seemed to have more pain then the ones who didnt' and also the mulitiple surgery people also seem to have more pain. Thank you for your advice on the lunges. I dont' really know how strong my legs are so thats something to think about. My surgeon said he doesn't see doing any lipo, I don't have any back fat (believe it or not) and he says the only part he's worried about is that inner fat that I have below my ribs and I understand he won't be able to lipo that. I take a hot bath every night and just try to imagine what it'll be like to have a flat stomach - seems almost surreal that I'm really going to get a tt!
  25. You'd just look like one of the guys.
