How wonderful for you! I'm sure your trips are long ones, and the ability to be comfortable in the seat is fantastic. Thanks too for the comment about fitting in a booth -- another great victory! Enjoy your visit with your family, and safe travels back "home" to South Korea. You are doing fantastic!

    Night 2 Post Op

Seems like the tube might have scratched your throat a little? A second possibility is you got a little flu in the hospital. I'd call. In the interim sugar free Popsicles if you can have those. Otherwise a lot of ice chips. Do you feel any issues otherwise? Temp? Feel better soon!

    Playing Dress Up

Adorable, heartwarming post! Thank you! And although I want to hate you for the "struggling to keep weight on", I wish you only the best! I hope it works out for you! I love the inspiration you've provided - not only to your daughter but to all of us! Take care:::::

    Had My First Fill

That went well for you; I'm glad! I've been trying on clothes this morning too -- good luck getting in to it and at the very least have fun at the wedding! Have a good weekend!

    2 for 1 -- lucky me!

Oh my that isn't good! I'm sorry you are feeling bad. Call your surgeon if it doesn't get better soon! Sorry I should have read your profile. The other thing? Get some walking in and try not to stress. It seems stress makes things worse.

    2 for 1 -- lucky me!

Oh my. I guess the biggest task you have ahead of you is learning what caused your "2 for 1" special and make sure you don't repeat it -- chewing, food?, eating too fast. Hope everything is ok!

    Freaking out!

But remember, we communicate on this site because we can share. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I DO NOT REGRET this surgery at all! I've lost over 70 lbs since Christmas and I am a different person inside and out. I absolutely could not have done it without this fantastic tool and although there are days or minutes where there is some kind of challenge, it is nothing compared to where I was heading: diabetes, stroke, heart attack, apnea............ But Polly is right. You need to be at peace with this decision. Best of luck to you!

    Four Months Today!!!

It doesn't seem like it was four months ago today I got banded. I don't really think about my band all that much and have grown to just making good choices and eating well the majority of the time. The biggest changes in me are in my emotional and physical health. I work out HARD 5-6 days a week. My blood pressure and cholesterol are within normal ranges. My knees and back don't hurt. Feet don't swell. Emotionally I feel like I'm 40 (30?) again and have no qualms about going places, meeting people and getting involved. I'm a little short of halfway to goal. When I get there I will have lost more weight than I will weigh. Nice!! I don't have many clothes to wear but I work with the outfits I have to look nice at work. I've lost 6 sizes on bottom and 3 on top so far and I have a ways to go so I'm not investing in that yet! I am happy. I no longer sit around waiting for things to happen for me; I make them happen. I think the mental and emotional changes are as noticeable to me (if not more) than the physical changes. On to the next month! Thank you all for being there for me. This is a great mechanism for talking, venting and finding some good recommendations. I am running (ok jogging) to the next month! - Sandy -

    frustrated!!!!

A couple things: - check with your nutritionist. Even though you are getting 1300 cals a day you might still be "starving" your body based on the heavy duty workouts. My PA told me to get in a whole extra meal when I do more than 45 minutes of cardio a day. It helped IMMENSELY. The plateau "went away" within a couple days. - are you measuring yourself? maybe the scale and weight isn't the way to go for now -- focus on pants being bigger, easier to go up stairs..... - kick up the protein and lower the carbs? - water? You have come a long way!! Try not to let it get you down! Hundreds of people on this site have lost a TON of weight; the tool works :-).

    Size 14 baby!!!!!

WTG! Congratulations! Nice attitude about the numbers on the scale versus inches. Sometimes our minds play these negative tricks on us, and trying on something new or something that hasn't fit in a long time is the way to go. Great idea........

    How did I get there?

Your story brings back memories. I was thinking about college, having a baby, going on Weight Watchers, phen-phen, Jenny Craig.... The journey for all of us on this site may be different by person, but where we are going: healthier and a sense of accomplishment and taking charge -- that we all share! I loved your "ramblings". Keep it up! Hugs :::::::::

    Holy Buckets, Batman!

Hi! I'm glad you had a nice vacation, and that things are going well for you in Minneapolis! I love seeing shows; Wicked is fantastic!! You will do great at St. Jude's -- you are helping families create memories and you are a wonderful photographer. Best wishes and take care......

Upset Stomach is not good with the Band!

Stress? Is there a way you can get some peace time, even for an hour? I like chewable stuff -- tums or pepto. Good luck and feel better SOON.

    caught in the crossroads.

I don't have any support from my mother either. I've developed a support group for me consisting of friends, this site and two co-workers. This works for me. You need to know that, even if your mother doesn't come around there will be other people to help.

My 1st NSV and I am not even banded yet!!!

I am thinking about you! The switch from food as the natural reaction to an emotional situation is a HUGE one. Congratulations!

The Major Reasons for Weight Lost. What is yours?

Christmas 2009. Flying home from Dallas. I fly a lot for work, and I've gotten used to getting to the airport early, getting exit row or upgraded seating. I was coming home from my mom's house and I was late getting to the airport and the last to board. I'm walking down the aisle toward my assigned seat (row 7 or 8 aisle) and the man next to the open seat said OUT LOUD "I hope that fat ass doesn't sit next to me". I had no choice there were no other seats. No one said anything. I cried for the 2 1/2 hour trip home. Got up on Monday and saw a Lap Band billboard on the way to work. I have tears in my eyes now as I write this.

    The fight never ends!!!!!

My surgeon's office has a new accounting manager and I'm starting to encounter the same types of things. I can't go to any more support group meetings without paying a fee of $25 a week to go. I can't go in again for a fill, unfill or even consult without paying $300 (until December). None of this was in my initial documentation. Not the kind of stress we need! Hang in there!

New Hairstyles - What do you think??

Congratulations on the comment!. You look like a different person to me, and I never saw you in person, so I agree with the comment! I love choppy too. The long bob is cute parted either way but choppy looks more carefree, less maintenance but as put together as the bob. That was fun! Thanks for including us!
