  1. Hey all, brought myself to tears last night... Went to the closet to pick out an outfit for work. I've been rather casual over the summer, so my business clothes are just sitting. So I put on a pair of slacks that I had and noticed…hey…these are big! So without a second thought, moved to another pair of slacks that I've never worn, because they've always been too snug. Wouldn't you know…TOO big. Then it hit me! With a fury like you've not seen…I went from left to right - and tried on every slack, skirt, capri, in my closet. My NSV - I no longer have anything in my closet that is TIGHT. Everything either fits perfectly or is TOO BIG! Those few pairs of pants I bought for 'someday'…came, and WENT! :biggrin1: I brought myself to tears…and did a happy dance! :whoo: So the weight isn't coming off so fast, but the body is changing in size and shape!!! For the better!~ :clap2:
  2. Are fill centers for those who had their band in Mexico? I was considering for myself, being that I don't like my doctor not being aggressive enough with fills.
  3. You shouldn't be so down about such a big weightloss. But I do know how horrible that feels. Just when ya think you're looking so fine...I glance and see myself in the full length mirror, and YIKES! But, I'm a work in progress as well...and I may NEVER like what I see.
  4. Yummy as they may be, I'm sure they're loaded with sugar/carbs.:cry
  5. So should I eat that 'one egg' to satisfy the growls? I know that in the mornings, I feel hungry. The rest of the day, I'm really not sure. Isn't it a bad thing NOT to eat; feeling hungry or not?
  6. You wrote: If you eat a bite or two and your desire to eat more remains....you aren't feeding 'real' hunger.... Is that saying, two bites should curb my hunger? Satisfy the tummy? I guess I struggle with 'enough food to fuel the body'. I suppose that should not be a concern, as I'm not an athlete.
  7. If that turns out to be the case (I dont' think it is, I'm only on fill #2)...I'd consider something else other than the band. I will only fail at something once.
  8. I'd like to hear from you all, to see how you differentiate between true hunger and head hunger. I see that I'm eating less, making sure to eat less (b/c my restriction is lacking with aid!). Somehow to me, it's not making sense…and I'm almost acting as if I must eat. I am diabetic so I have to be sure to eat enough to keep my sugars up. :help: Any suggestions on how to best cope?
  9. It would be so much easier if my doctor would do the fills 2 weeks apart. But he makes you wait a month for a fill; then an office visit must be had. THEN I can schedule my next fill...which is up to a month away! So I'm looking at end of August for my next = 2 months apart!:faint:
  10. No kidding. Frustrating as all hell. Well, I guess now that I've had 2 fills; I'm 1/2 way there? lol
  11. I was afraid you were going to say that.
  12. I'm so grateful to have found this thread! I'm 9ccs in my band as off two weeks ago. First 10 days; great restriction. Now hardly any. It's in the brain!! He told me that he's had patients with 18ccs in the 10 Vg band. I don’t get it. I just hate the excitement then the crash down again, and again…after my fills seem to fail me.
  13. My 2nd fill on June 28 had been doing me great. Good restriction, got my gurgles on. Now just three days ago; seems my restriction is just 'gone'. I mean, not like without the band...but definately less! I am wondering if this is the 'settling in' of the fill that I hear of? This stinks.
  14. Heck, it's been so long - I'm not even sure!!!
  15. Not much...about 30 pounds. ***I'm very jealous of someone I know who did bypass, and lost fast.
  16. Hey Lynn.... Sorry for the LATE reply...I need to get more motivated to come visit you all more often! What I mean is that I was eating - anything - I wanted. Not to the point where I felt stuffed...but I did eat wrong. Wrong choices for sure. Now, being 'more' restricted, but not idealy restricted - I feel better having the reigns of the band pulling me back.
  17. I had my 2nd fill on June 28 (my birthday!). I have had such good restriction; I've been happy. I was actually worried, hoping to feel the 'stuck' on things…just to be sure my restriction is still there. (Crazy, I know!). However, I noticed that yesterday, and again today - I'm not feeling my restriction. Like - POOF - and it's gone? I mean, last week a slice of ham gave me the worst stuck yet! Don't get me wrong…not like I could imagine eating a whole 'wrap' sandwich. I'm sticking to whole proteins; seafood, filet mignon. I just know that it usually doesn't happen in just two fills. My doctor actually mentioned to me that I could be one of the few people who don't get a 'full' sensation with the band. Oh great.
  18. DBAGuy.... Fantastic reply!!! Immediately after surgery, I had restriction for about 6 weeks...glorious! Then I was able to eat as if I had no band at all. Got my first fill; again, could eat what I want. Had my 2nd fill...and now feel 'some' restriction, though that varies with day, time, where the moon is (just kidding). No rhyme or reason. But I can say, after having some 'stuck' episodes, I really feel for those folks who are overfilled!!
  19. Alexandra; that's the best news I've heard all day! ***Gotta credit Josephine...I'm sure she's fighting for ya!!!
  20. This seems to be happening to me now that I'm on my 2nd fill. I've resorted to eating spaghettio's a few times; as they go down easily. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to what gets stuck and when. Friday night; I had a bad stuck on a filet mignon. I was really upset; couldn't eat it. Tried another filet mignon yesterday - no problem at all. As long as I get my Protein in, I'm happy. So day to day, for me is varying. STRANGE thing this band! lol
  21. Hey Deanna, Remember...if you LET her sabotage you, she can and will. Sad fact of life. One thing, since I was in HIGH SCHOOL...that I've always said - there are plenty of people out there in this world that will put you down. Never let yourself be one of those people. Sure, everyone has an 'off day'...but I've never been one to pick out my flaws, complain how fat I am, etc. Just show your confidence, even if you have to FAKE it. Yup, become an actress - and eventually, like self talk...you'll see how quickly you can squash the saboteurs! Good luck! Sheri
  22. Right now, I feel good in the a.m.'s - b/c I can FEEL my restriction. I get my gurgle on. lol I know its there; it stops me from eating more, etc. But for some reason, in the nights - I feel NOTHING. Not a gurgle to be had, not a 'restriction strain' in sight. I often get worried that I've 'popped' the band or something by dinner time. Unfortunately, I think it's led me to more p.m. eating than I should be doing. How come this is?
  23. Don't panic when you get the golfball feeling, or get stuck. First time I panicked...ran around like a nut - cried, screamed...you name it. Recognize the feeling, and just go with it. It WILL go away. My most recent 'stuck' lasted about 2 hours! Not incredibly painful; just extremely uncomfortable. I've not yet PB'd...but I HAVE slimed. Be prepared for THAT. Though everyone is different, for me...my mouth just turns on like a faucet. Drool just pours out of me. LOL...I've actually gone outside and just stood in the grass, just to be funny. But the ONLY reason that has happened to me, is b/c I've been lazy...and not chewed well enough, or took to big a bite. I've had wine, vodka - just be careful. I get drunk much 'harder' now. Not necessary faster - I've just gotten a worse drunk on than before. Don't know why. And THAT is scary - so I am very careful. Don't want to vomit.
  24. Hey all...checking in. I posted on the general board instead of on here as well. 2nd fill last week has me in shape. Can't get away with all I was getting away with. I've not gotten on the scale; will do so tomorrow. Would like to see some sort of a loss! We'll see...slow and steady will win me the race, right? The clothes are all fitting me better; but now I'm frustrated at what clothes are getting too big! Some things I can't even 'fake' anymore. Bought some cute tshirts; nice to have my hourglass back and have it look nice.
  25. I haven't been on in a while, and was looking foward to hearing from Jack! I hope he's back soon! He'll be back in time; "Jack in 2008"
