My Surgeon pissed me off!
I went to my surgeon yesterday; I had my 1 month after fill appointment (gimme a break!) Good news; I lost another 5 pounds (and that's with PMS!!) I was actually SO excited to hear the news - I really was! I am getting compliments all the time at work. My Dad even said "Hey Skinny" - made me feel good. I had asked the surgeon about my chart. I wanted to know what my starting BMI was. And like a lightening rod and in one breath he shrieked out "You started at 45 BMI, you're at 37 BMI now. BUT YOU ARE STILL MORBIDLY OBESE". Ya know….jerk - talk about stealing my thunder! Let me enjoy the 5 pound loss! Let me appreciate the fact that I'm brining my BMI DOWN. No need to remind me of what I am. I KNOW I have more weight to loose. So insensitive. Needless to say; he was MORE THAN HAPPY to have me schedule my next adjustment. At this point, I'll be down to adjusting with tiny amounts to get to the sweet spot. (at least I hope).

Am I in denial?
I wasn't hungry or thirsty for days and days. It took me until day 11 post op - before I even felt like I wanted to eat/drink anything.

How'd THIS happen...my fickle band?
HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW!!!! lolololol ROFLMAO I CAN SO RELATE TO THIS! :faint::clap2::faint::clap2: Exactly. For instance; I started this thread. My restriction was 'gone' again. TODAY - I was DONE/FULL on two bites of salad. YIKES.

January Bandsters???
Didn't know there was one!!!

How'd THIS happen...my fickle band?
I like the description of "Non Food". Realizing that filling my pouch with something that hold no nutritional value isn't appealing any longer. I want to get my protein and fresh veggies - something I know my body needs.

PLEASE HELP! I need some support right now... :*(***
I think at this point, I would just say to heck with insurance, and find someone else 'out of network' and pay it out of pocket. Most insurances don't cover the psych eval. It shouldn't run more than a couple hundred dollars.

January Bandsters???
I bet this this is the most excited about a gain you've ever had! I'm glad to hear it's just 5. I pretty much figured. And I would have to say that you probably are NOT eating 'whatever and however much' you want. That's like me saying 'I ate like a horse'. Anything over 1 or 2 cups of food does not = 'like a horse". hehehe I know, it's mindset. I'm TRYING, and trucking along.:whoo:

I've lost my manners
I have lost all manners, for sure, since being banded. I went to a concert last Friday night; something got a little stuck while tailgating. I swear I was 'spitting' like a man. Actually got to the point where I was checking to see how far I could heave it. I know; how lady like. Even as I write this; I have a styrofoam cup on my desk. My 'spitoon'. Yup; don't care - gotta do, what I gotta do. Worst one yet; at my parents and just 'dumping food' out of my mouth that I just KNOW will get stuck. It's almost like an immediate reaction now. Ahhhh, I love my band.

Slow Loser
I have quite alot of fill in my band. Doc says I'm one of the few who doesn't get the 'full sensation'. Go figure. And NO KIDDING - otherwise, I'd never would have eaten so much in the past! I see my surgeon on Thursday; hopefully we'll plan another fill.
-
For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
At my last fill, it put me at 10.2 cc; and my restriction is 'minimal' right now. Doc told me that 'some people'...just don't get the full sensation. I'm hoping for another fill soon.

Should I Have Another Fill?
How would I know if I was too tight?
-
Re-using the fill needle?
Could it have been a 'joke'? *not a very funny one, however.

January Bandsters???
Hey Sunshine!!! I am so sorry for you loss. As for the 8lbs...just look at is as a 'stress reliever' - and it WILL come off again. I'm sorry to hear about your flooding. Up here in the Northeast, some areas have experienced some of it in recent months. I know how hard it can be. Wishing you the best. Sheri

January Bandsters???
Hi Tracey! Wow; you've just made my day! I feel like "HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY HAPPEN?" But is can and it DID. YIKES! I am hoping that when I see my surgeon on Thursday, we can schedule my 4th fill - usually a month out. That would put me right before Thanksgiving - and for that I'm grateful. Being one of those people who don't 'get the full sensation easily' - I think they're really going to have to 'fill 'er up' in my case. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement.

Slow Loser
From one slow looser - to another....if it weren't for this board and all the encouragement; I don't know where I'd be. Then again, I'd probably be GAINING fast!
-
Is this board SLOW lately?
I have been coming here for about a year for support and education. There has always been the 'regulars' out there. Sometimes I post; sometimes I just read. But the last month or so...is this board slowing down? Or have the folks I've grown to love just not been around? :faint:

January Bandsters???
Hey all... I don't post here much - mostly b/c I feel so far behind all of you with my extra slow weight loss. I struggled my first three months with no restriction. The my first two fills did NOTHING for me for restriction. Then my 3rd did the trick; this past month has been FABULOUS. Then- what seems like in an instant, that great restriction went bye bye last Friday. Don't know how, don't know why. I see my surgeon on Thursday for a follow up. If I put it in my head, that for the little that I'm eating - it probably won't take my excerise to work it off. But - the lazy girl that I am - I HATE workingout. Dear lord, worse than anything. I am the BIGGEST excuse giver I know. Anyway, glad to see the success you're all having. I'll have to post some pics soon. Sheri

How'd THIS happen...my fickle band?
Hi Gayle, I was eating 'soft foods', Pasta, mac & cheese, because days earlier I had to bad stuck episodes, and I must have been very swollen inside, or something, because I was hardly able to get anything down at all. So I was doing the whole mushies thing. Figured SOMETHING was better going in, than nothing at all. I suppose I was a little afraid to go back to 'solid' meat/chicken, etc. for fear of that STUCK. Because no matter how much I chew - sometimes it can't be avoided. And boy - does that suck! I did see, however - how much PASTA goes in EASY!!!! Months later, this is my first time doing the 'carbs' thing - and man its simple. But the carbs make me feel horrible, tired, etc. Plus, being diabetic - I normally steer clear completely. Thank you!!!!!

I just had my very first "WHOOO" moment
Awesome! Good for you!

How'd THIS happen...my fickle band?
The last 4 weeks; I've had AMAZING restriction; very good place to be. So today for lunch, I had one hot dog. Not bad. Then ate about 3/4 cup of mac/cheese w/cauliflower in it. GO FIGURE! That's the most I've eaten in a month! Wow band...you drive me crazy sometimes!

Slow Losers - Unite!
Ok, here I am, looking to join this thread for support. I love my other threads; but everyone seems to be AHEAD of me. I am just now at a very good restriction. I was banded Jan. 31. My 3rd fill 4 weeks ago is the first time I have had good restrction. However, since I'm eating so much less - I'm not loosing! I have been sick, however with bronchitis; laying around etc. All in all though - I am a slow looser who HATES excercise.

Is hair loss a given?
Ditto. I started out with a thicker head of hair/alot of hair. I freaked at the thought of loosing it. I started Biotin months before my surgery. I still take it; and I make sure to get in all my Protein. Good luck.
