  1. I like this choice best. Like I said; he's been my biggest 'fan' seeing me shrinking, etc. I could never 'respectfully' say to him Mind Your Own Business. Not like he was intentionally being disrespectful to me. I'm just getting though the mental part of being with band. Never mind the added stress of going to Weight Watchers, etc. That would put me over the edge sometimes! lol
  2. As I mentioned on another thread, my father asked me yesterday "How are you feeling? How is the weighloss coming along?" I told him that I haven't weighed. So with that, he went on to tell me about how the guy at work had it done, and he's loosing 3-4 pounds per week. Then added "But he's also on a diet". In other words, the guy is on a restricted diet of some sort; possibly weight watchers, whatever - so he's loosing more (than I am). Almost an incinuation that if I did a diet plan; I could loose faster. Dad has been my biggest supporter, but I'm really annoyed today, thinking about the conversation. What can I tell him to shut him up? I don't need a food police.
  3. It's been a bad habit 2 weeks; not the best food choices, some WRONG choices, etc. Had TOM last week. Anyway, I 'knew' that I was up on the scale. So I stayed away. Big chicken that I am. Dad saw me yesterday and said "So...how are you feeling? How is the weightloss?" Told him I haven't weighed. But his asking me, made me think "Do I LOOK fatter?" So this a.m., I weighed. Down another 1.5. I coudln't believe it. So, my NSV was weighing less than I thought I would!!!
  4. DEAR LORD NO! I'd NEVER want anyone NOT to post! You're my inspiration! Yes; I'm jealous...but it's because you're doing what I want!!!
  5. I'm feeling so slow, so inadequate. My loss is SO much slower than yours. I know...no comparing. I can only blame myself I am sure. I've definately NOT dedicated workouts to my healthier lifestyle, in the amounts that I should. My New Years resolution for this past year was to loose weight. Did/doing that. This year - will HAVE to be to get moving/working out. I want to do good as you all!
  6. Wow...that type of 'forum' seems so foreign to me. There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME when it comes to you all! I'd NEVER get through my rants and raves if it weren't for you all. I don't go to a support group; other than you. So YOU ARE DA BOMB!
  7. Are you sure NOTHING NOT A THING is correct? Take a good look at this and think how 'nothing' feels, compared to restriction. To me, when my TOM comes and I loose restriction and 'feel nothing'...I'm full of it. It's just not as tight as I'm used to.
  8. DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing that I can go into Avenue, Lane Bryant - and not feel like a freakshow. "This size is too big; can ya get me something SMALLER!" lolol
  9. Before my surgery I kept telling my family and friends; "ONLY POSITIVE ENERGY". So I salute you taking a step out for a while. I get where you're coming from. Everything has a way of working out for the best in the end.
  10. We went to a cajun resturant for dinner on Saturday and I had the crabcakes. They bring 2 HUGE cakes. Naturally, I picked at the first one (after appetizers). So I just reheated the 2nd - went down NO problem. As long as it's not 'bready'...it's easy.
  11. Anyone else have a good guess? I'm guessing it has to do with Water retention???
  12. Eggrolls! Soft bread Rice
  13. Ahhhhh, clarity. Makes sense. Thanks! To me, still a cheeseburger.
  14. Isn't a small ground beef patty still a burger? I enjoy my burgers with different things on it; cheese, mushrooms, onions, peppers, salsa, hummus...you name it. It's an easy way for me to get in my Protein. Turkey burgers rate up there, too!
  15. So here I am writing about my amazing ability to eat what I want, in larger quantities during my PMS. Hardee, Har Har. Just yesterday afternoon, my cousin scarlet came to town. And just last night, I took a bite of chicken and mushrooms - and could BARELY get in a 'good meal'. Ha! BAM - Restriction - BACK! Easy come - easy go! My band is oh so fickle! lol
  16. I'm not sure, but my doctor's office asks me if I'll be on TOM for a fill. They prefer NOT to do it then, as there is a risk that runs of an inaccurate fill. But then again, each doctor is different. I would certainly call your doctor; as you should NEVER experience 'pain'. Discomfort, perhaps - but definatley not pain. BTW - congrats on your amazing success!
  17. Hey Mscags... You leave this very open to questions: How long are you banded? Is this your first period since banding? Are you feeling pain, or are you feeling restriction? Fill us in a little more information so we can give our 2 cents. If you read some more, you'll see that many of us have a BIG variation in restriction with TOM; some get really loose, some get really tight. In the end, I think we all go back to our 'norm' when the cycle is over.
  18. I'll take salami and FF cream cheese, spread it on and make roll ups!
  19. MY OWN POINT to my comment was: I've been told that I should eat for 20 minutes, then stop. If I've not eaten all my food - so be it. Within 20 - 30 minutes of eating the band begins to empty. Grazing is the enemy. Last night I had a grilled chicken caesar salad. I found myself eating for 45 minutes! Why? So I could eat more. No way...bad habit to get into. I'm much better off giving myself the 20 minutes. Doesn't sound like a long enough time...but trust me - it is.
  20. I love my red meant, and fully came to the conclusion that I may not be able to tolerate it at all after surgery. Here I am months after surgery and red meat gives me NO problem - so long as I chew it properly. Just last Saturday I had a filet mignon (well, 1/3 of it). My plan for this Friday night is cheeseburgers. I buy them frozen at Aldi and they're delicious. Granted; I no longer do the bun, b/c of it getting gummed up. chicken on the other hand...I have to be very, very careful with. That gives me a problem, unless I drown in in gravy - and then what is the point? Eck.
  21. Been there, done that. What you're feeling is oh so normal. You wouldn't be human if you weren't having a ferris wheel of emotions. It's excitement, fear, anxiety, etc. all rolled into one. I remember being in the hospital, IV in arm...ready to go in - and said "What am I doing to myself!?" What I did for myself was: drop about 4 sizes, lowered my blood pressure, lowered my blood sugars, dropped off alot of medications, and put myself in a great frame of mind. I am definately a work in progress; but I wake up now, feeling so good about my decision. Best of luck.
  22. Damn...tighter?! See, grass is always greener on the other side.
  23. Hey all; just checking in. I'm doing the PMS thing right now - and as I've posted - I seem to loose restriction this time of the month. In a way; it's appreciated. I guess b/c it's when I crave - and I know it's all mental - and I think I'd be a lot worse (bitchy wise) if I couldn't eat. I know that is what got me fat to begin with…but I'm just going to look at my momentary laspe of restriction as a gift from mother nature. Thank god it's almost Friday! BTW; saw Jersey Boys on Saturday. Did I tell you that I hated it?
  24. Hey CD (LOVE your name!) Best of luck to you! You're about to embark on one hell of a ride! ENJOY! Let us know how you make out! (We don't all check the Nov. boards).
