  1. I live in Joliet- I have sent you a message. It would be great to have a "band buddy". Who was your surgeon?
  2. Sometimes when you begin a workout program, especially an intense one, you can hold water which helps your muscles to heal. Just be patient and you may very well see a big drop soon. Good Luck!
  3. So sorry to hear that. I was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and can so understand what you feel at this moment. My Christmas wish for you is to beat this horrible thing called Cancer. God speed!!
  4. Heather- Some people may think your son is the one to feel bad for but it is those people with the insensitive remarks to feel sorry for. Your son, has love and support and so many prayers going for him. Those people well...hell can be a terrible place for sure. God speed to you little hero.
  5. Shelley64 I absolutely Love your advice it helped me, esp. the comment "It's not like you're never going to eat again...if it was that delicious just have it again... Really hit home THANKS
  6. shut the front door LOL
  7. Count me as one who absolutely loves their band. The only time I don't "love" my band is when I am not being accountable and want to blame it on my band. But the band does it job and does it well for me. Happy Thanksgiving all.
  8. Any amount of time is good. Start slow and work up to longer periods You can do this.
  9. Running, weights and stairs! When i say Stairs I mean 1,000 to 2,000 real stairs (not a stair master, but a building stairwell) in a workout. It is great cardio and strength training in one. I love it.
  10. Congrats to you - it is one year for me on 11/09/11 and I too say it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.
  11. I have been training to Climb the Sears (Willis) Tower here in Chicago for a Charity event on 11/6/11. Yesterday I climbed 2,200 stairs in under an hour. I still have a ways to go to goal but feel so strong and empowered! Yeah to all of us for making the decision to take our lifes back.
  12. one year this month - down 75 pounds - FEEL GREAT!
  13. Steel Cut Oatmeal with protein powder, banana and almonds. Only a 1/4 total though, have a hard time eating in the morning.
  14. Second the fact that pizza cheese (especially inexpensive cheese) can get stuck easily!
  15. every morning in Africa the Gazelle wakes up and says to himself, "today I must be faster than the fastest lion", the Lion wakes and says "today I must be faster than the slowest Gazelle" Fast or slow doesn't matter, this is your race to run, go for your personal best every time. Good luck to you
  16. Started as a 42 H, lost 80 pounds now a 38 H. For me, they are genetic more than they are due to my having been overweight.
  17. Joliet (think Blues Brothers) Illinois
  18. If you have uped your exercise lately it may be water retention. Muscle holds onto water when healing. Just keep on keeping on and it will come off.
  19. The only thing I wish is I would have done it sooner. I have lost 70 pounds in 8 months and feel great!
  20. I was banded one day before you. I too have stalled in my weight loss and can sometimes get stuck and not sure if I should get a fill or not.
  21. The weight of the world (ok only 70 punds but it feels like the weight of the world)
  22. I had to stop focusing on the numbers the scale shows...it was driving me insane, causing me to want to throw in the towel. Now I pick out a goal outfit, give myself time to get there. Once I )achieve that outfit (size, style, whatever) I pick another. So now rather than having a goal weight, I have a goal outfit to achieve. It has really helped me.
  23. Good luck and wishes for a speedy recovery-
  24. Hang in there James! I think Meekie gave a wonderful idea about remembering how you were before. Sorry about the loss of your mom - you will get through this. Best of luck to you.
