You have done great! I would change up what your doing. If your already working out, change what you do (from teadmill to bike et..). Adding weights will increase your metabolism as you build muscle. Varying the amount of calories you eat is also suppossed to help (eat 1200 one day, 900 the next et..). Good luck! Keep up the good work and you will see that scale move.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!........I hope
You are doing great! It's so tough on vacation, I am very impressed you lost weight. Keep it up!

uggggghhhh!
Since you can't really keep down water, I would go in for an unfill for sure. I know there may be some swelling, but since even water is giving you trouble I would think your too tight. I have had to get an unfill after my last 2 fills. I was very hesitant to do it, but it made all the difference in the world. I had restriction after each unfill.

3 weeks in .....
Wow- you are under a lot of stress and don't seem to have a lot of support. Have you looked into a WLS support group in your area? That may help a lot. Are you excersising? That can be a great stress reliever. I hope your son behaves himself in daycare! Best wishes!

Exercise Goals #2
Hi all you jocks out there! I worked out with my trainer and then did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I was doing 40 but increased the intensity so I backed off, will get back up to 40 over the next week. I was walking/jogging for 3 minutes of walk, 2 minutes of jog. Now I am walking for 2 and jogging for 2.

Can't wait for my first fill.
That is too bad you have to wait so long for a fill- but you can do it! That is great you are eating right. You will see the scale move for sure. Excersise would be great to add, if you haven't already- and it helps with hunger. Remember why you did this, keep that goal in mind when you are deciding what to eat. Of course, keeping busy helps a lot too. If you stick to the program you are well on your way to a brand new, healthier, life. As far as your first fill, just know that it doesn't always cause restriction. It took me 3 fills to get there. Best wishes on your journey!

Exercise Ideas
Swimming is great, you won't sweat and it's easy on the knees. I would start out slow and gradually increase your duration and intensity. Whatever you decide to do- get moving, it will really help your weight loss.

Most fruits and fruit juices okay?
Juice shouldn't hurt your band but is not ideal for weightloss. There are lots of calories in juice, and no fiber. You are much better off eating your calories. Liquids slide right through the pouch into your "big stomach".

A heartfelt revelation
You have a great attitude. Our bodies are amazing machines, sometimes we forget that.

Return of Acid Reflux, Will a Fill Help?
I believe acid reflux is from being too tight. So no, I don't think a fill will help. I would talk to your doctor about the situation.
-
Does your band tighten over time??
I would find a doctor in your new area. You may need a slight unfill. My doctor always asks about acid reflux, so I think it is related to being too tight. Not sure why this would have happened all of a sudden.
-
Stomach Irritation or Slippage??
That is good you are going to see the doctor. Sounds like it's probably just swelling, but I have no way of knowing for sure. Talk to your doctor.

So I have an eating disorder.....
Therapy sounds like a great idea. You want to be careful about getting into a binge then purge pattern of behavior. I think that you are so aware of the issue is a great start. Best wishes! Keep us posted on how your doing.

Yes!!!!!
You are doing great, keep it up!

Take Your Measurements
Wow- you are the incredibly shrinking woman!

Exercise Goals #2
Did 40 minutes on the treadmill- walk/jog. I go to my trainer this afternoon- we'll do legs. I really didn't want to go this morning, but am sooooo glad I did.

It worked, my fill has given some restriction.
You are doing great, keep up the good work! You will be in onederland before you know it.

Any relief in sight? HELP!
I agree with Betsy- you should call your doctor. A slight unfill is not the end of the world, doesn't mean you will go back to being hungry. You seem to be too tight for sure, a slight unfill could make all the difference in the world. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

First snack attack since banded.....
Sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello help me with cravings for something sweet.

In the 120's!
Thank you so much for all the positive feedback! jen36- I was banded Nov. 16th 2009, so it has taken me about 8 months to loose 88 pounds.

Your thoughts on LOW CARB with the band.
I eat nuts (almonds- 1/4c is a serving) and lowfat cheese sticks for snacks. Low carb protien shake may also work. I love perfect portion chicken by perdue- they are marinated chicken breasts- individually wrapped. I just through the pack in the freezer and take one out at a time. Also marinated- is lean porkloin. It comes in a variety of flavors- I like the honey mustard and peppercorn. It's easy to cook- just open and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes. Also- the more veggies the better- and they will help with fiber. Hope these ideas help and congrats on starting a wonderful journey!

Exercise Goals #2
I did 40 minutes of walk/jog on the treadmill. Also worked out with my trainer- back and chest. She always kicks my butt lol.

In the 120's!
I weighed 129 this morning! I haven't seen the 120's since college. It really feels like a milestone. It took forever to get out of the 130's- experienced a couple of stalls. I am very short (4'11") so I still have about 20 pounds to go, but it feels like the journey is coming to an end. My original goal was 120, now it's 110. I have lost 88 pounds so far.

Stalled at i year out help
My reccomendation is to increase your cardio from 2 days a week to 4 or 5 days. That will really speed up weight loss. Also, are you working the same muscles on the total gym every night? If you are, I would stop that for sure. My trainer says muscles need at least 24 hours to recoop before you work them out again. Congrats on what you've done so far and good luck!

What in the world, happened! ??
Sounds like what is affectionately known as slimeing. It is not good, but not unusual. It may have been the drink. Be carefull of carbonation, also drinking calories is not ideal. I don't drink anything with calories except a protien shake at breakfast. Best wishes!
