  1. I took prednisone for my skin several times and it made me incredibly hungry. Next time, maybe raise your concern with your doc. and see if there isn't something else you can take. I hope your appetite has subsided.
  2. You sound very determined- that's what it takes to succeed. I did weight watchers, I think it is a very healthy program. You could continue it even after fills give you restriction. I found the meetings really helpfull. My first fill didn't help at all, it took 3 for me to feel restriction. Hang in there through "bandster hell" and know it will happen.
  3. lots of good advice in the previous posts. I would add looking into therapy- hopefully you have insurance. You can look into the emotional reasons behind your eating and come up with productive alternatives. One is excersise which brings me to my next piece of advice. Start a excersise program! It will help with stress and really help with weight loss. It keeps your metabolism running higher all day long. I was at a stall in weighloss for about a month. Kicked up the intensity on the treadmill and the scale is moving again. You can do this! You are worth it for sure!
  4. I agree, it is a tough time until you get restriction. One option would be to not worry about loosing, but of course you don't want to gain. The other is to continue to eat like you have restriction (high protien, low carb, low fat). Also, once your doctor clears you start working out. That really helps in weight loss. Start off slow and gradually increase intensity and/or duration. Best wishes! Keep us posted on how your doing.
  5. My doc. says 24 hours clear liquids then reg. food. Like others have said, you need to be carefull. Take small bites and chew chew chew.
  6. I have had inconsistany just like you. It seems like I eat small bites and chew well all the time. Maybe that is not the case. I am particularly tight in the am- I just do a protien shake for breakfast. Talk to your doc. and the 2 of you can decide if you need a fill. Best wishes!
  7. Sounds like you are doing great! Good luck in your journey.
  8. I have had to go back for an unfill the last 2 fills. I just had one recently and have had some trouble, but today has been good. I am hoping it was swelling that is subsiding. I know how frustrating it is! I went from being very hungry to way to tight.
  9. Don't let others get you down. You made a decision based on what was best for you. I agree that gastric bypass is to invasive and more risk for complications. You may want to have a talk with these friends and explain you need support. Or at least they can say nothing if they don't have anything positive to say.
  10. I agree that a week or so on liquids may be a good start. You don't mention is you are feeling restriction. If not, go get a fill for sure. In the meantime, you might want to focus on eating properly (low fat, low carb yada yada). Even if your portions are larger than when you have restriction it will be a good start. As already posted excersise is super important. Do what you can and gradually increase the intensity and or duration. You can do this!
  11. I did cardio 6 days in a row! Yeah me lol. 40 minutes Walk/jog. I also met with my trainer 3 days. This thread is great-it's part of what helps keep me motivated- so I can post it here. The scale has reflected my progress I am happy to say. Keep up the good work everyone!
  12. Getting a take out box is a great idea. You probably shouldn't eat more than 1/2 of what they give you. You can ask for a takeout box with your meal. Then put 1/2 away before you even eat. Most places have something you can eat- like grilled fish and veggies or a chicken ceasar salad. You may want to stick to a few places you know have something you like that is on your eating plan. Best wishes!
  13. That's great! I am always very excited when clothes that didn't fit do. Keep up the good work!
  14. It took me 3 fills over 2-3 months to get restriction. Very few people get restriction on the first fill. Hang in there and know it will happen.
  15. Yesterday and today did 40 minutes of walk/jog on the treadmill. Worked out with my trainer yesterday- 1/2 hour of abs.
  16. My hair started thinning so I went to the dermatologist. He said, much to my relief, I wasn't going to go bald. He said your body goes into a state of shock after rapid weightloss. I was lucky to start out with a thick head of hair. Your hairloss should stop in a few months.
  17. I agree excersise is key! I was at a stall in weight loss and uped the intensity and frequency of excersise. It got that scale moving again. Are you journaling? Are you getting enough fluids in? You may want to take your measurments, sometimes people don't loose weight but loose inches. Try not to beat yourself up and move on from here. Everyday is an opportunity to do the right thing.
  18. My feeling is that everyone can benefit from improving their eating habits. You make want to make a lean protien, veggie and starch for your family. You can eat the lean protien and veggie. Good luck!
  19. You may have had some swelling that took a while to go down. It took me 3 fills to feel restriction. You may want to call your doc. and see if you can get in sooner to get another fill. I wish I had done that. Good luck!
  20. Very typical for hot liquids to go down easily- they loosen the band. You may be having difficulty when you eat too fast or don't chew enough. Hang it there! It just gets better and better.
  21. I agree with the protien. I don't know is slimfast has enough. I drink EAS carb control. You can get it at walmart.
  22. Got to the gym and did 40 minutes on the treadmill walk/jog. Makes 5 days in a row for cardio. I am taking the next 2 days off as I am going out of town. Back to it Monday for sure! Everyone is doing great!
  23. It is very normal for your first fill not to provide restriction. It took me 3 fills to feel any kind of restriction. Hang in there!
  24. You seem very determined to get back on track. I am not working either and know how hard it is when you don't have a lot of structure to your day. You can do it! Best wishes.
