  2. I'd like to add. I think you'll have more band issues while pregnant if you have restriction before getting pregnant. I was at pretty good restriction before getting pregnant and was actually contemplating getting another fill to lose my last 20 lbs or so, so I could hit goal. Thank God I didn't get another fill. I also now realize that as my pregnancy progresses and my tummy gets bigger my band will only get tighter. My band is sensitive. I knew at the start of the pregnancy that I may need a slight unfill I just didn't think it would be this soon. Hoping to get in to see my Dr Tuesday or Wednesday.
  3. I've had nothing but problems since learning I was pregnant. I'm one year post op and 11 weeks pregnant I'm almost at 7 ccs. Lost 86 lbs before getting pregnant. I'm 5"10 was 270 got down to 186 my goal was 165. Anyway my biggest issue is with vomiting and nausea. I'm constantly nauseated. If I don't eat I'm nauseated if I do eat I feel like vomiting. I vomit at least 2-3 times daily. This morning I weighed myself I was at 178 lbs. That means I have lost 8 lbs this trimester. That wouldn't be a problem if I were able to eat three meals a day and drink enough water. I'm even having a hard time keeping down liquids. After suffering for over two months I've decided to get a slight unfill. Hoping my doctor won't completely unfill me. Concerned baby is not getting enough to eat. Honestly I'm also concerned about not having enough resrriction and overeating. Ive already been fantasizing about what im going to eat after the unfill. At first I wasn't concerned about the weight loss, many women lose weight during their first trimester because of nausea and vomiting. I'm now concerned because I'm approaching my 2nd trimester. The nausea and vomiting have not subsided and I keep losing weight. I hope this slight unfill gives me some relief.
  4. Just found out through a Dr that you should take Malox Advanced during first trimester. Dam dam dam
  5. I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and virtually everything hurts going down. Cereal, chicken, eggs, pasta..... I'm constantly nauseous and vomiting. I am unable to go to my Dr. Until September because of insurance issues, switched insurance now adding better insurance during open enrollment. I've done some research and narrowed it down. I attribute my sickness to either, a slipped band, anemia, GERD, or heartburn. I started taking Malox Advanced ( which I think is okay to take when you're pregnant) before meals. I eat extremely extremely slow, slower than I ate before I got pregnant and this seems to have done the trick. I also bought some Tums. I'll try those out today
  6. So sorry to hear you miscarried. You'll get back up in fills try to be patient. I know thats easier said then done. I think it's wonderful your doctor fills slowly it prevents complications and future emergency unfills. God Bless you
  7. I've had about 8-10 fills ( I'm at 6.8 ccs i think maybe less) and although I complained so much about my Doctors office filling me so slowly after reading all these posts about people getting stuck and having to get unfills I'm thankful. An experienced Dr. will fill you slowly.
  8. I'm in Arlington I have lost 80 lbs. 20 more to go. 28 and need a workout buddy
  9. I'm in Arlington, TX and would love a workout buddy if your interested please respond
  10. It's a myth that it's ok to eat more while you are pregnant or that you need to eat more. According to research you should only be consuming 300-500 more calories when you are pregnant. It really all depends on you BMI. Coming from someone who gained wayyyyy to much during her first pregnant (over 50lbs to be exact) be congnicent of what you eat and the effects of what you eat. You'll pay for it later. You should be drinking for two not eating for two. Your water consumption should increase your calorie should only increase slightly.
  11. The last part..... Does your trainer know you had the lapband surgery? So that he/she can take that into consideration when choosing or creating a cleanse for you.
  12. I did the Master Cleanse although I initially lost 11 pounds I gained it all back plus an additional 5 pounds. The problem with cleansing is that it's difficult to stick with. If you veer off track the reprecutions are weight gain. Once I got back to high Protein and exercise I was fine. I guys it depends on the type of cleanse. If it's healthly ( master cleanse isn't the healthiest cleanse out there) then go for it. As long as you are prepared to stick with it go for it. The other problem with cleansing is that lapbanders can't eat certain foods that may be on the cleanse. Like certain fruits or vegatables. Does your tea. M v
  13. For those of you who lost weight before getting pregnant, first off congrats. I held off on getting pregnant again to lose weight and get healthier. Were you able to wear your old fat cloths as maternity cloths. I've lost almost 100 lbs and an now trying to get pregnant I'm now a 14-16 and wondering if I should keep my 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and size 24 just in case I can uses them as maturity cloths. Still trying to lose another 20 lbs them I'll be at goal.
  14. Awesomeness congrats. Every milestone is worth celebrating. 280 here you come!!!
  15. Dr. Daniel Scott at UT Southwestern did my single incision surgery, he and his staff are very knowlegable, professional and supportive. He is a pioneer in TX performing one of the first SI laband surgerys in this region
  16. Had a hernia as well was repaired during surgery good luck
  17. You mentioned that band slippage can be pain, not necessarily. I think you're hesitant about getting an x-ray, which is understandable it's expensive. I honestly think your doctors office is to blame a little for your problems. My Nurse practitioner filled my so slow. Only 1 cc at a time at first after 6 cvs only .2 ccs every 4-6 weeks. Maybe they filled you too quickly. This back and fourth shouldn't happen. An experienced lapband office should know at what rate to fill patients. You also need to really sit down and figure out if you really are doing everything right in order to be successful with your band. You say you eat whole grain and vegetables. Whole grain are carbs and extremely hard to get through your band. Veggies are the same. Protein, protein, protein. My nutritionist said the only thing the band is really meant to restrict is protein. Start logging what you eat and when you eat, go a support group like someone suggested, watch YouTube videos they are so extremely helpful. Make sure you are always eating protein first. I really never feel full. Restriction for me means if I eat one more bite of that chicken, tuna or fish I'll vomit. Restriction doesn't means full ever. I really restrict my self. Be 100% honest with yourself. Are you exercising eating the right portions? Good Luck
  18. 1. Stop running from the camera. I hated taking pictures I was looking through old photo albums there are like 5 pictures of me in the last 5 years. 2. Run a 5k ( i really mean run not walk..... ok maybe jog) 3. Fit comfortably in a seat on plane without having to raise arm rest to feel comfortable. 4. Wear shorts ( not capris I hate capris) 5. Wear a one piece swim suit without the ugly shirt or board shorts
  19. I workout out with a small group of women. It's motivational not a lot of pressure and fun. Try a bootcamp or group workout. Also try eating something light like an orange or tomatoe. My nutritionist recommend I eat one of those 30 mins before my workout to give me energy.
  20. Almost 30 lbs in 3 months is awesome. You are losing on average 10lbs a month, which is approximately 2-3 lbs a week. I suggest weighing yourself daily to keep better track of your weight loss and gain. Don't worry as long as you are doing what you are supposed to do, you'll loss weight. Good luck, stay encouraged and you'll be fine.
  21. Try Zicam is usually works within a day to shorten the duration on my cold. Also try Emergen-C
  22. If you are dizzy I don't think you are consuming enough calories, in order to do this type of workout. Don't beat yourself up and don't be embarrassed. I'm to chicken to even try it. Ohhhh my goodness, good for you!!!. Crossfit is the most intense cardio workout I've seen. I just heard about it a few weeks ago, I did a google search and say a video of it, it's the definition of intense. It seems more intense than p90x and Insanity. I just went for a fill last week and was talking to the nurse practitioner who does my fills. She said she had a patient who had to have an unfill because of the same problem you are experiencing. Apparently you need to increase the number of calories you are eating because you are burning such a huge number of calories. Electrolytes (Poweraid and Gatorate), will not be enough besides they are full of sugar, unless you get the zero calorie. You need to increase your caloric intake. Sounds scary, but that's what the nurse practitioner suggested. Talk to your crossfit coach and ask about the number of calories you should be consuming in order to maintain energy to complete the workout. I'm curious about what you find out. I was told by my trainer to increase my potassium intake, to stop dizziness and fatigue. He suggested a potassium pill or tomatoes. I don't suggest bananas because they are so high in sugar and carbohydrates. Good Luck
  23. Isopure is what my nutritionist recommends along with Nectar protein( found at Vitamin Shoppe ) To me Isopure is too foamy. Nectar is much better.I recently ordered some Injury I hear that's pretty good.
  24. Try Adora, calcium melts, uhhhmmmmmm they are so yummy. These suckers don't even taste like calcium they taste like Hershey's chocolate. No chalky aftertaste, nothing but creamy goodness.
